Photo Exhibition - Passage of Time

I was very excited yesterday for all the new things I learnt and the things I saw.
But especially when I visited this exhibition, I felt that 'wow' moment

This is a photography group that I did not know it even existed. It is local, from an area near Heraklion called Agios Ioannis (far from me), but the photos I saw, the feeling, the vibe .. reminded so much of me!

This exhibition takes place at a beautiful, historical gate that is underground. People enter from Eleftherias Square and exit on a different city layer.

When you enter, these lovely sculptures welcome you.

But then, you get to admire all kind of art around them

Old factory, old city walls at night

Some of these clicks could well be taken by me..

Heraklion with its colors, its diversities, its graffiti and art all around.

As you proceed walking, you see a corridor, here you will see some more amazing shots, some of them are vintage.

I really liked this photo, took me many many years into the past, like I was seeing my mothers photo from her youth..

I was deeply moved by seeing all these photos.

From the one side, I am sad to see so much neglection in most parts of my city.
On the other hand, this inactivity is also preserving the old. Because most of the places that are being developed, come out with big multi-floor houses or hotels..

There is a second part of the exhibition

Here we see the old and the young, and we feel the hope.

As you go to the next chamber, you see images shot in an elderly asylum.
I did not want to take photos of these, they were too touching, too personal, I felt I was intruding their privacy.
One of them would show a close up of an old lady holding a mirror and putting lipstick. And some other that I do not want to express. (A video will be uploaded so I can share that with you if you want)
