How I lost 5 kilos in a few weeks. My Actifit Report Card: July 5 2025

Yes you read that right
I have lost 5 kilos in the past few weeks, and trust me it feels great

Especially when I know that another heatwave is on its way

I had not realized it until almost a week ago, when I wanted to check my weight and saw that it was almost 5 kilos below what I remembered

I felt nice and wanted to continue doing what I have been already doing

For starters I have started skipping breakfast
I know that some may say it’s not healthy, but when I was eating I wanted at least one toast and some chips and some fruit during working. Then I would also eat lunch and snacks and dinner

As I understand, less calories did the job and this is what we must remember always. Less calories but if possible combined with lots of water, some fruit, vegetables and also @actifit!
(Or at least a form of work out)

It can be walking, running, making any sport you wish, but it is good if it is consistent. At least 5 days a week you need to be active. I have been trying to be active during the whole week

Let me tell you about today; I visited the babies and mother came too! This made two of the babies coming near me!

This is probably a boy and is the most brave one, today came only a few centimeters away from me

This handsome guy was outside of a house so I did not dare pet him, as people were living there.

I hope you had a nice day, tell me your thoughts about losing weight. Did you ever face such an issue?

good on you!

imho, much au-contraire to what Kellogg's wants you to believe, breakfast is the unhealthiest meal of the day!

our bodies are made to store yesterday's energy in the liver to provide us for a day of hunting and gathering. I strongly believe it's much healthier to skip breakfast, snack some fruit during the day and eat good proteins and good fat in the evening. It makes sense to me that millennia of evolution have adapted us to such a rythm before food processing and fridges were invented.

This actually sounds nice and could be true!
I do feel much better those days, and I even don’t feel hungry in the morning like I used to!

i never had that issue with weight, i could eat everything and still keep same weight (low fiy😂)

that's good as long as it makes you feel good with yourself... but for breakfast maybe just a fruit? or white yogurt?

that cats are starting to like you

Oh you are lucky!
I have friends who eat all they can manage and are always so thin, it has to do with metabolism
I think the best is to have a weight that you feel comfortable in, and allows you to do your activities easily

Yea, they always said that, metabolism

That's true! And that doesn't bring health issues

Congrats on your achievement! I hope you will be able to reach your target weight, if you haven't yet. 😀 🥂

Although I don't really gain much as I've always been on the slim side, my belly used to like to follow its own rules. 😅

But, that was before the pandemic. I have lost a lot of weight during that time, including that on my belly. So, it's flat again but still with some amount of fat.

My goal now is to regain weight in the form of muscle mass, which I had lost during the lockdown years. 🤔

You definitely need to go to the gym or to make a sport if you wish to build more muscles!
For me, the goal is another 5 kilos till the end of the summer and I hope to keep that weight

My maternal grandfather was a soldier and WW2 veteran. In his youth he was a body builder before the war, and also after, when he was in college to become an engineer.

He continued his Army service as a reservist, and when we were young he taught us how to exercise like a soldier. Later on, in my early college years I thought of going to the gym to improve my physique.

He said no, and that he would teach me instead how to gain muscle through his military exercise regimen which consisted mostly of body weight training exercises (push-ups and pull-ups) plus free weights (dumb bells and barbells, with or without a bench), and cardio.

So, I became an athletic guy in my late teens and early 20s thanks to his training. It wasn't just for health reasons, but I was also preparing to enlist in the US Navy at the time.

Fast forward to around 2015 I started lifting again after about a decade of little to no exercise. That picture below is from 2018, two years before the pandemic. And the dumb bell I am holding over my head weights 50 pounds, or 22.6 kilograms.

I was already 48 in that pic, and now that I'm 55 and about to prepare for war. In case it happens I will get called up to serve, so I need to resume my fitness regime.

US defense think tanks say that the war between China and Taiwan could happen anytime in 2027 and beyond. And when that happens, my country (the Philippines) would get involved in it, as China has evil plans on us too. So, I have two years to get in shape again.

(Edited)

I think drinking lots of water when possible is always great for the system. In terms of having breakfast, I'm not so fixated on what the conventional opinion is, I try to listen to the body for the most part, going with the flow sort of thing. Across the day, it's only my lunch meal that I take seriously :)

Yes, the main meal is supposed to provide energy and help you from being hungry!

Wow! That’s impressive! You could lose so much weight in a short time. I will have to be more active too. I lose weight easily whenever I didn’t have enough sleep and eat poorly for five days.

The kitties look very cute! You have many cat - friends!

Losing weight is good for your health. I'm working on it. I haven't started yet because I got lumbago and had to postpone it. I'm overweight and need to lose weight.

Oh Lumbago can be very painful and annoying, I hope you get better soon! Yes, you need to take it easy.
I have found that when I started eating less food, I stopped being always hungry (but it took a short while for that)
Be Well!
