I too am at the planning stage, but haven't quite decided as to exactly what I will be planting. I have used toilet roll middles for years now, and cardboard egg boxes, they're brilliant, as less mess.

The re- cycle queen has struck. If your eggs come in pressed paper carttons, they make good seed trays as well.
Take yoyr time, and dont over do it.
Good idea about the egg trays, i can start my flowers in them. It's going to be a good year :)

We'v been saving our toilet roll/kitchen towel holders to start seeds in also. Have you started seed that way before? This will be my first time.
My sister works in a science lab, she does it this way and yes it works :)
