HOLY WEEK IMAGES

This week, for the Catholic religion, was Holy Week and today is celebrated on Easter Sunday. Dozens of traditions and rituals are carried out around these dates, to venerate this episode in the life of Jesus Christ. In many churches they hold processions with large statues of Jesus, these rituals are fascinating and interesting to me. With great respect I have photographed the image of Jesus from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption on Margarita Island.

Decenas de tradiciones y ritos se realizan en torno a estas fechas, para venerar este episodio de la vida de Jesucristo. En muchas iglesias hacen procesiones con grandes estatuas de Jesús, estos ritos me resultan fascinantes e intereses. Con mucho respeto he fotografiado la imagen de Jesús de la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de La Asunción en la Isla de Margarita.

The black and white photographs of the sculpture of Jesus Christ that I captured during Holy Week in the aforementioned Cathedral are wonderful. The entire atmosphere of the church gives the images an atmosphere of solemnity and reverence that fits perfectly with the religious theme represented.

With the composition I tried to provide balance between the figure of Jesus Christ and the surrounding space, which creates a feeling of harmony and integration with the cathedral that is beautiful. The sculpture becomes the focal point of the image, drawing the eye to the flat details that I find the most interesting.
