Happy Caturday: feeding temple cats on rainy day.

The monsoon rain has caused severe floodings in several towns in the north. People just didn’t expect that floodings would occur at the beginning of the monsoon season. Looking at videos of floodings in China, the flash floods with huge volume of water were quite surreal. The whole city was under water in ten minutes. The opening of watergates of the Three Gorge Dam seemed to be the main culprit. The terrible deluge of floodings were the result of inept and irresponsible civil servants who didn’t pay much attention to correct methods of ‘water management’ and constant monitoring systems. That’s a big drawback of the centralised bureaucratic system under communism.

So, people downstream from Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Burma have become very concerned with the flow of excessive water from China. All the towns and villages along the River Khong would be monitoring the increasing level of water so officials could warn people about the emergency evacuation. I have been monitoring the levels of the river everyday and searching for news about floodings in Laos. The heavy rain continued for several days in Laos last week. The result was the unexpected flooding of Vientiane which turned the capital city into a big lake.

It seemed flash floodings and recorded rainfalls have plagued several cities around the world. But these floodings didn’t make any mitigating effect on spots of hot conflicts in the Middle East. It seemed the world is on the verge of a terrible world war. On top of this, the impact of Trump’s tariff have caused economic, financial and logistic problems in many countries. I did wonder if these tactics were aimed towards the Great Reset and depopulation. Certainly many people will become poor and starve from engineered poverty and wealth transfers.

So, my head has become embroiled with all the negative news and happenings on my country as well as those around the world. I tried to be mindful of changes in reality so that my mood wouldn’t be drown in a pool of negative vibes. I tried to do want I could to get organised and plan for an ‘escape’ route in time of emergency. My tasks seemed to proceed at a slow speed as I had limited resources. I did try to give warnings to some old friends who have plenty of resources for backup plans. But most people seemed to become stunt like deer caught in spot lights.

I knew I was very lucky to have my routine tasks of feeding stray cats at the temple. These hungry but friendly cats helped to ground me in reality and the need to survive each day with some food in the belly. These cats weren’t burdened by local economic and political problems or the prospect of a world conflict. They were concerned about having visitors giving them food everday. They had to sit quietly waiting for familiar visitors to turn up in the afternoon.

The sudden downpours had made me postponed my visit to the temple several times. I could feel that some poor temple cats were waiting for the sounds of my car in the temple. During rainy days, people would avoid traveling as the traffic jam would be quite bad. I felt very sorry to see that some cats didn’t eat for almost a week. When I got out of my car, two black cats would greet me at the door and meowing softly. They had so much forbearance and patience to be without a good meal for the whole week. Some cats were so hungry that they would munch dry biscuits without any wet food.

It took me a few minutes to spread out the food containers with dry and wet food. Luckily these temple cats were very polite and would wait for me to give each cat a food dish. I felt so good and gained some positive vibes from being with these cats. I could never be so polite and patient of I was starved for five days. These cats just accepted their fates and sat quietly with their hunger. For human society, if there weren’t any food supply for one week, riots and burglaries would just become widespread! I really had to plan for some backup power storage unit and solar system to gather power source just in case the electricity supply became interrupted. This project would require a hefty amount of capital. I would have to ponder all the options carefully.

The costs of living started to get higher as I could no longer afford to buy the top brand of cat food. I had found a cheaper brand of wet food which temple cats seemed to like a lot. The delivery costs of online shops have also increased by 20-30%. So, I had to hunt for coupons and special flash sale to stock up cat food. These cats wouldn’t understand how humans’ behaviours could affect their well being and survival. These timid and sensitive cats continued to wait patiently for kind visitors to feed them from time to time.

I was very grateful for the opportunity to be ‘assigned’ the job of feeding these poor cats at this old temple. Though I had to pray that some unkind monks wouldn’t be able to stop visitors from feeding stray cats. I hoped that I didn’t have to confront some particular monks on the issue of feeding stray cats. I heard that some monks had threatened some local staff about feeding temple cats. So, I hoped and prayed that I could continue to feed temple cats for at least two more years. One day, I would have to leave the city and I would feel terrible about not being able to feed these cats again. Let’s live one day at a time!

Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.

Stay strong and cheerful.

Oh yeah, the scary floodings, it's sad that its happening. I avoid watching some of those videos. I can't just watch it. And speaking of cat, even dogs and other animals in China, I am so sad coz i'm sure even those animals are also affected. Aigoooo.

And you feedings these cats are just, amazing. This kind of scene is what make the world beautiful despite what's happening now in the world. I hope a lot more of people like you exist everywhere all around the works. ❤️✨🤗
