Panoramic Shots

Last Saturday, I visited Poland's Tatra National Park with my camera. I took a variety of photos there, but in this post, I'd like to present something I've done for the first time – panoramas shot handheld and without a tripod. I've often taken wide panoramas, but always with my camera mounted on a tripod. This time, I didn't have one with me. However, I thought I'd try collecting photos for panoramas without a tripod.

I create panoramas by taking several vertical photos, shifting the field of view, while maintaining the rule that each subsequent photo should contain about one-third of the previous frame. This ensures that subsequent photos can overlap when stitched together in post-production. It's also important to maintain perfect level, which was a concern for me when the camera wasn't mounted on a tripod. However, I think the results are really good, even without a stable support.

The next step was to combine the photos using a dedicated panorama merging tool in Adobe Lightroom CC. I also did most of the editing in this program, with minor corrections in Photoshop, in which I also created the cover graphics.

The first photo was taken several minutes before reaching Kasprowy Wierch.

Another panorama was created at the top of Kasprowy Wierch.

This photo was taken while climbing from Kasprowy to the Beskid peak.

The next two photographs are taken from the Beskid.

The last one was created when descending from the Liliowe Pass towards Hala GÄ…sienicowa, and it's my favorite from the whole trip :)

A more detailed report of the entire trip, including a description of the trail and plenty of photos I took along the way, should be available in the coming days. Here, I wanted to focus on the panoramas, which I think deserve their own post.

That's all from me today.
I wish you all a nice day (or evening)!

This landscape is beautiful, I see why you wanted to get some panoramas and to show them off in their own post. Wonderful!
