Hello there, Madlang Hivers! It’s me @juvithavibes, back with another heartfelt blog post. So grab your favorite cup of coffee, get comfy and join me as I take you through one of my favorite local escapes a simple but soul soothing overnight trip to Guanzon Beach.

Since our relatives from Manila were on vacation we thought it would be a perfect chance to spend some quality time together. We decided to go on a quick outing to Guanzon Beach since it’s just nearby. It wasn’t a grand plan but sometimes the unplanned trips are the most fun. It started with a simple idea “Let’s go to the beach.”

When we arrived, the entrance to Guanzon Beach greeted us like an old friend. The same trees, the same warm sun, and the familiar path that led to the beach cottages. It didn’t take long to find our usual spot near the water. We’ve gotten good at this we know where the best shade is which hut has the nicest view and which area of the beach is clearest for swimming.

We weren’t just there for the day this time. We wanted more than just a quick swim and lunch by the sea so we decided to rent a room and stay overnight a first time for some of us. The room was simple and cozy just enough space for our things, a place to rest and a bathroom. It had everything we needed. The rent also came with access to a mini karaoke area, which was free to use and really fun we all enjoyed it.

Not even five minutes after settling in we were already in the water. That’s just how it goes. The sea was calm and clear the kind that makes you forget you’re tired. We swam, floated and chased each other through the waves like kids.

I remember one moment when I just stood still waist deep in the water letting the waves push gently against me. It was quiet aside from the occasional laugh from my friends and relatives. I could hear my own thoughts for once and they felt lighter. That’s what the ocean does. It doesn’t just wash over your skin it clears out your head too.

Later in the afternoon, we sang along to random songs, and walked along the shore. The signal wasn’t strong in the area which ended up being a blessing. With our phones mostly tucked away we were forced to be present and we actually talked, laughed, and just enjoyed being with each other.

The quiet felt complete it didn’t need anything else. When night came we settled into our rented room took quick showers, changed into fresh clothes, and snapped a quick selfie with my cousin hehe. We sat on the steps for a while, looking at the stars and listening to people nearby singing karaoke. Later, we went back inside and shared quiet stories before bed.

Morning Calm

We woke up early the next morning as the soft light started to fill the ocean. It wasn’t too bright—just calm and gentle. The air was cool and smelled like the sea. Everything was quiet and it felt peaceful. We could only hear the waves and the leaves moving a sign that the day was starting.

Some of us got up right away and walked down to the beach. A few of us stretched first or just sat for a while, watching the sun rise slowly over the horizon. The water looked even clearer than it did the day before. It was so peaceful the beach was nearly empty, with only a few other early risers walking barefoot along the shore. They weren’t in a hurry either just enjoying the quiet like we were.

I brought my phone and took some photos while the light was still soft and golden. The beach looked perfect calm waves, untouched sand and the little cottages with their roofs still shaded by morning light.

I took pictures of the area which is the cottages and the view looking out to sea. It’s funny how something so simple can look so beautiful. These were the kinds of moments I wanted to remember not just the view but the also the feeling.

After that, my cousin and I went to the coffee shop but sadly it was closed. So we decided to buy a pack of coffee and just made some in the room we rented. But before heading back, I took a few pictures of the surroundings. Since it was still early in the morning, it was a great time there weren’t many people around which made the place feel peaceful and perfect for taking photos.

We made coffee. Just instant coffee nothing fancy but it tasted better somehow by the beach. We sat on a wooden bench sipping slowly. The warm cup in our hands the ocean in front of us and nothing pressing to do that’s the kind of peace you don’t realize you need until you have it. We laughed quietly about little things.

Breakfast was whatever was left from last night grilled fish, rice, a few pieces of fruit we hadn’t finished. We reheated them and ate slowly and enjoying every bite. It felt perfect just the way it was. The sea breeze made everything taste better and there was something comforting about sharing food in such a simple setting.

After eating, we started packing our things with no rush. We moved slowly folding our clothes and packing our things. Every now and then we looked back at the beach. It wasn’t a sad goodbye but it meant something to us. We all knew this place had given us something we didn’t even realize we needed rest, quiet and space to breathe.

IMG_4353.jpeg

Before we left, I took one last walk along the ocean. The tide had come in a little washing away the footprints from earlier. It reminded me that everything passes but also that every visit to this beach leaves a small mark even if it’s just in our memories.

IMG_4462.jpeg

Guanzon Beach has always felt like that kind of place. It doesn’t try to be fancy or loud it just gives you a chance to slow down. Every time we visit we feel a bit lighter a bit more at peace. And every time we leave we know we’ll come back.

It's nice to spend time with your relatives whom you don't often see as they live in another place. Spending your precious time together at the beach. It's truly relaxing when you are close to the sea because the view is so pleasing to the eye.
