πΆ Ruff & Tuff πͺ Survival Of The Fittest In The Cardamom Mountains Of Cambodia β°οΈ

You have to be tough to survive in the Cardamom Mountains, especially if you are a dog or a car, and this dog is the undisputed heavyweight canine champion.
πΆ Canine King Of Steung Kach π

Β Β Β In our little village there aren't a lot of dogs, and certainly no wild dogs, but even this doesn't stop Steung Kach canines from living rough lives. There are some pretty vicious dog fights that occur each week, and usually the above sweetie is one of the involved parties. He is reigning alpha, but getting old and will one day have to retire from his throne. Even though covered in scars, he is the sweetest dog in the village, and wouldn't dare bite a human or any kind of non-dog domesticated animals, and even resists the urge to chase forest animals.
π¨βπ Toyota Hilux Too Expensive? Make A Camrickup π»

Β Β Β One of the most popular cars in this part of Cambodia is the Hilux, but this truck is only available to the middle class folks. Most working class folks only have a motorcycle, and for some of those with a little creativity, a Camry truck can be fabricated for not much more than the cost of a used motorcycle. Maintenance and upkeep are still pricier than two-wheeled transport, but these Camrickups are always destined to earn money for their owners, making it possible to get into the transport business with little savings.
π₯ Sous Chef Srey-Yuu π©βπ³

Β Β Β To close things out and finish this post which I've been trying to publish for 3 days, I leave with you our sous chef Srey-Yuu frying some tofu and trying to stay composed for the camera. Frying tofu is known to make humans enter a meditative, almost coma-like state, and I too have experienced the tofu-hole. It's kind of like when you are driving and all of a sudden you realize you can't remember anything from the last 10 minutes, but somehow you managed to make turns and navigate traffic whilst having an out-of-body experience. Okay, until next ASEAN Hivers........

The wild dog seem like no one Don't feed him at all. Seeing Sreypov at the back maybe she was busy talking to the neighbors. Have a great day βΊοΈ
The dog looks a bit rough, but he is well taken care of. You're right, Pov was busy talking with the neighbor about wood for our fence.
Yay! π€

This dog is indeed not a domesticated dog unlike the domestic ones that will keep giving you problems
He is very sweet with humans, but no dog is allowed to challenge his alpha-ness.
Ohh! That's nice. I wish I had a dog tho
Daww. Doggie. The rest of the post was kinda lost to me. Doggie! I think there was food with your daughter, too, but doggie!
Well, apparently as tough as doggie is, he is known to enjoy a fruity slice of watermelon.
That's awesome. Good doggie.
For a moment I thought you meant to write 'cat', then I saw the pic of the rusty truck and I realized I never hear anything about Cardomom mountain cats.
Is the weather too crappy for them, do people eat the cats or is there only mountain lions around? ;<)
Haha, probably more cats than Camrickups around here. There are a few kitties in our village, and two of them like to get romantic every night behind our bathroom. I think there are plenty of pythons around here that would make a quick snack of a kitty, and also nobody has a fence or dogs on leashes, so the less behaved dogs try to eat everything small enough to chase.
I can't stand that sound! It's sounds diabolical.
Pythons and free roaming dogs sure solve the kitty problem.
Here, in the Portuguese countryside, cats breed like crazy. Most people don't have the money to sterilize them and every year there's more kittens. Of the dogs, half of them are leashed, I guess, but most of the free roamong ones seem to be pretty okay around cats.
hearing a story about a dog king who has a black color, I want to tell you a little in your post this time about my trauma story with a black dog, long time ago since I was in elementary school, I was chased by a black dog,at the time. as soon as the bell from the school house had rung indicating it was time to go home.all of us students immediately came out in droves to put on our shoes and headed back to our respective homes, in the middle of my journey when I came home of course we went home on foot, that's where I was chased by a black dog which is very famous for its ferocity.in the early days the dog barked i ventured to look the black dog in the eye.not long after the black dog began to sway to chase us,My hair started to crawl And I started running as hard as I could and as fast as I could, but the dog's speed was faster than mine,in the end I was dragged or bitten by a dog on the back of my shirt. how unlucky I was that day,the clothes on my back were torn and bitten by a black dog, my thoughts at that time were that my Java was finished or my life was over in the hands of a dog but suddenly there was a farmer who saw where I was being pounced on by a dog.if there was no father who helped me maybe my life would have been lost..don't even say thank you to the father, I didn't even realize myself at that time, until now I'm still traumatized by a black dog ,,,
Wow, that is a terrifying encounter. I've been attacked a few times when I was young by dogs, but luckily none of them were big enough to do major damage to me. I did one encounter where two very big dogs chased me, but I was able to get on the other side of a gate to escape them.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful post..π @justinparke it brought a flood of memories..when I was in Thailand .. I got one of such dog, in the Mo Ban (village) where I've stayed..and he had sequestered a place of its own beside our gateπ ..it will always greet me with whining and a wagging tail..missed that dogπ€
Yes, a lot of the dogs in this part of the world live a tough life, but it also gives them big personalities. I would like to see more of Thailand one day. We live only a few minutes from a border crossing, but it is only for emergencies at this time. Soon it will become an international crossing and we'll be able to easily visit Thailand by minivan or bus.
