Yeah, she has a pretty standard stink-eye look when I harass her from the window. The only reason I think the SE Asian squat works with me well is because I used to pull weeds for a living, and the squat was the position I spent much of my day. I also like how a social squat has a time limit, usually around 20 minutes or so. There are some folks in the village that I don't want inside my house for various reasons, so popping a squat somewhere else on the property is a way to engage with them while still maintaining some boundaries.

I worked in landscaping some summers back when I was in high school and college. I could never handle the squat. I was a crawling on my knees kind of guy.
