Welcome to Hong Kong
Traveling to Hong Kong, my husband and I have no high expectations. We know it's a place for shopping, Disney, and a gateway to Macau, perhaps we just have less to zero knowledge on other things interesting about the country but those things didn't excite us except for one - photography. I know being a city, and a shopping city, it will certainly be a good spot for taking photos.
But we loved that my husband's company provided everything for us, we just had to show up plus, this will be a great experience for Matti. Actually, after traveling to Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, I have a great feeling that Hong Kong will be similar and I was not wrong.
So, it was important for us to get a private bus transfer to our hotel from the airport when we arrived because this would allow us to see Hong Kong from the ground, unlike riding a train, riding the bus would give us an interesting view and a chance to take photos.
True enough, having the bus by just 12 of us, we had ample of space to move from the left window to the right while taking photographs. It's quite fascinating seeing tall buildings on islands. Hong Kong is an archipelago of 234 islands, with a main island - Hong Kong Island, and a peninsula Kowloon, extended by the New Territories, I got quite interested in how they made transferring from one island to another very efficient, especially the train system but the bridges here are also very picturesque.
We passed by several bridges and tall residential buildings, I can't imagine myself living on a skyrise though, I felt scared thinking of just hanging my clothes on the terrace of a 30-story building, but I guess the people of Hong Kong are just used to it seeing the number of skyscrapers. I understand that I do not belong to such a city.
We passed by a tunnel too and one thing I can say is that there wasn't much traffic so far until we reached the main Tsim Sha Tsui area. I understand that this was normal because of the number of people in the area.
I hope you enjoy the photos!
