Meeting King Julien and More at Universal Studios Singapore!
Now that it's been half a month since my last Singapore post, I decided to start uploading the photos from the day that we visited Universal Studios Singapore.
If this trip wasn't a company-sponsored one, we might not have included this on our itinerary but since the tickets were already bought before we arrived in this country, we decided we should go and so I bought tickets for my parents as well. Each ticket entrance was worth PHP 3369 or 133.6 Hive, I bought their tickets at Klook.
Universal Studios in Singapore is located on Sentosa Island. We took a bus down towards Harbour Front station or Vivocity which took around 30-40 minutes to ride. Then from there, we walked up to where the free Sentosa Express.
I was relieved when I spotted a lot of my husband's colleagues were there at the bus stop when we were also waiting for a bus, it lessened my stress in finding which way to go.
I learned that there's a nice view of Sentosa Island and it can only be appreciated when traveling there with a private vehicle. According to our family friend who works in the country, the entrance to the island is filled with plants and flowers, but we can't see it if we take the express train.
But nonetheless, we have no other option. The only problem though was that the express train was jam-packed! We arrived at quarter to eleven in the morning and boy, there were so many people around! Universal Studios opens at 11 AM and so when we arrived, the gates were still closed but the other areas such as the restaurants and coffee shops around were already open.
Yes, there are so many instagrammable spots! You just have to be creative not to include other people on your photo!
The candylicious shop was surely a fun sight. My little one was acting like waiting for those candies to drop! As we came near to the Universal globe, we found so many tourists just trying hard to get their own selfies and group pictures with the globe! In fact, we decided not to take our photos at that time as it was surely hard to get one without a photobomber. But we can't help it! We just decided to take some photos with our phones which was not a good idea:
The last image shows where the husband's bosses showing James where his other colleagues were who have our tickets. These guys are really friendly!
Now when we came back after the end of our tour, there were still photobombers! You just have to take pictures, no matter what.
The above photo was taken at the end of our tour.
But as I had mentioned earlier, we might have not included this as part of our itinerary if the tickets were not pre-bought by the husband's company. The reason is that we aren't adventurous people! My husband isn't fond of rides and we have senior citizens too with us! But I realized that after seeing these images of my parents just smiling and enjoying, I think, it was good that we went!
Although there were so many people around, it was not a problem getting in as there were so many gates! Those who have tickets can just get their tickets scanned! There's a separate lane as well for those who have babies and toddlers and for those who have strollers! It was super smooth!
We were still at the entrance when we noticed the group of King Julien so we went into the line for a photo opportunity. I am glad it didn't take long! The crews here are already well-trained on how to handle the photo opportunities, and they also have a limited time.
We walked and found this huge village fascinating with its structures and design. Universal Studios is Southeast Asia's first and only Universal Studios theme park, featuring thrilling rides, shows, and attractions based on popular films and TV shows
Who can ignore the Minions? Of course not us so when we reached the Minion Mart, we stopped for a couple of minutes so we could take photos! I took a lot of photos of Matti and he already recognizes the minion so he had fun looking for them here! Unfortunately, there was no meet and greet for Gru and the minions, it was sad when we learned about it!
The truth was that we have no idea which way to go first when we reached a fork near the minion mart. We decided to take the left instead and we were greeted by the view of the Battlestar Galactica and Ancient Egypt treasure hunters!
We stopped here for a few minutes just to watch the ride. The red one is human, a typical rollercoaster where you sit in a train-like vehicle. There’s no 360-degree turn in Human, the thrill is in the speed. While the blue one is the Cylon, a rollercoaster where the seats are suspended from the overhead track, hence your feet will be dangling throughout the ride. There are more than one 360 degree turns, so it’s 10x scarier than Humans..
My mom surely enjoyed just watching the riders shout as they go up and down the rollercoaster ride! We could just appreciate how brave these people were! But then again, it would take hours for one to ride, except if they bought express tickets! That costs another set of Singaporean Dollars but definitely worth it as one of my husband's colleagues did buy an express ticket for her and her brother and they had so much fun, getting ahead of everyone in line, they tried the Battlestar four times!
We passed by Madagascar: King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round which was still closed when we got there. There were parents with kids too as this is for kids but unfortunately, we have to move forward. We reached a nice view of the castle but this ride caught our attention too, the enchanted airways! It's a smaller version of the Battlestar but still equally terrifying. We didn't ride this nor attempted to fall in line. We just move forward until we reached Far Far Away.
Welcome to Far Far Away! The castle looks ultimately real! I only would see these kinds in films and cartoons but now, I have seen them personally with my own eyes! Boy, it was really pretty!
Matti bent his knee for the frog prince! Lol! He was just attracted to the body of water surrounding the frog! The view from here was really nice! So we took a lot of photos, selfies, and group photos of us together with the castle at the back!
There's always a line in Universal Studios. I am glad that when we were about to take photos of the castle, there was no line anymore so we were able to take photos unlimited in numbers!
My parents enjoyed it here for sure! We were already hungry when we reached Far Far Away so instead of exploring the corners of the studio, we decided to look for a place to dine. We met one of my husband's colleagues and she recommended we go to the Egypt area as there's a restaurant that's air-conditioned there.
While on the way, we stopped a bit to take a photo of these dinosaurs in the Lost World, we will be back later after lunch! We headed to Ancient Egypt and soon, we found a place to eat: Oasis Spice Cafe. This is an Indian restaurant located right in front of the Revenge of the Mummy!
Well, the only reason we dined here was that it was air-conditioned and my little one was already crying as he wants to latch. So we found comfort inside, we were sweaty and the temperature inside was what we needed to get rest!
There's also a nearby comfort room so it was convenient for us. Although the food here was really expensive! We ordered only a few biryani servings and it was more than a thousand pesos in pricing! Well, that's what we can really expect from places like this. I must say, tourist destinations always have to overprice and I guess it's always a given.
Well, it was time to move. We found shaded areas in Ancient Egypt, still, there were so many people around that going for the rides would take hours of waiting. This was not for us, I thought in my mind so we just took advantage of taking pictures!
Matti continued to sleep! And while we were here, we heard suspense music. Soon after, there were people in their Egyptian costumes going to this Egyptian sculpture, it was time for a meet and greet again! There were specific hours of meet and greet but we didn't really take note of those times, we thought, it would just a come-what-may situation.
We were able to take photos of ourselves with them. Because we have a baby, they allowed us to be prioritized! It's nice for the crew to do that.
I guess this blog is super lengthy now, I will create a separate article for the second half of this day! Thanks for reading and watch out for more!

Very nice is this place, impressive, it looks a bit like the one in Paris, by the way I never ride those roller coasters.
i tried only once tho and that was years ago, I had no courage to ride again now... haha
We here in Romania like to call ourselves "be a man", but when it comes to riding a roller coaster I give up hehe.
