Coronation of King and Queen of Hearts Bulawan Version

I am so happy to be able to join the recently concluded King and Queen of Hearts 2024 coronation of the Bulawan Child Development Center. This is the daycare class here just near to our house which is where my little one is also included. Unfortunately, my little one only goes to their class a few times and in one of those times, it was the counting of money and I was asked if I could be their treasurer, I didn't say no so I accepted the said offer, I was also asked to take photos of the actual event.

From the decoration to the sash decorations, taking their official pre-coronation photos, and to the printing of their photos, I was on all of the preparation. Their project was the television of the classroom which was bought in the city a day after the counting of their money. I bought it myself at 13999, the brand was TCL.

As I said, I was part of all the preparation. I also bought the trophies and the frames, the tarpaulin design, and the certificates. I was indeed very busy that week, this happened on the 2nd week of February.

I haven't watched any event like this for a long time so I was glad to be part as I was able to witness the event together with my little one and my mother who supported me too.

The coronation started with the tricolor hymn, and the parents did the honors leading that. The opening remarks followed next with the DSWD worker and main teacher of the daycare center, Maam Nieves then the punong barangay also gave his own words of wisdom.

Then finally, the kids appeared on stage for their production number, they were wearing white and white costumes, and the boys even had neckties.

I already had forgotten what was the music to which they danced but it was fun to see them dance. These are kids of 3-4 years old so we do not expect them to dance perfectly, some were just even there smiling and being shy but the fact that they showed up on stage was already applaudable!

At the same time, each couple went into the centerstage and posed for everyone! It's just so cute to see these kids walking like models and bowing down. I am truly amazed at how these kids followed their parents' instructions and in all fairness, they went walking without any guidance. They knew it right away when their names are called.

While the kiddos were changing for the next part, an invited DSWD head, Mr. Ruben Boybanting was requested on stage to talk. He specifically talked about love as it was Valentine's Day that very day and he had given everyone a very nice and heartwarming message regarding the love of parents for their children, that each parent must never give up in supporting and loving their children given the challenges of today's generation.

After the said speech, this little girl serenaded us with a beautiful song to which she sang beautifully. She was confident and wore a poker face in every belting tone she gave.

After that came the sportswear. The kiddos started coming up on stage and presented their sportswear. Most of them were wearing common ones like Basketball being the most famous sport in the country. The girls however were quite amazing as they wore different sportswear.

I have my favorites, I was again caught in awe at how these three and four-year-olds are doing great with walking and posing. Did you see the cowboy above? That little kid nailed it! How about the girl with the badminton racket?

After this, the King and Queen from last year did their last march and waved goodbye to everyone. The former King also sang a song for everyone as well as Theo, one of their classmates rendered another song as well. Theo is my grade-school classmate's son and she said she's training him to stand in front of many people to boost his confidence and overcome his fear of facing the great crowds. I believe she's doing the right thing. Theo also has an angelic voice! I believe he'll go a long way if he continues to train and sing.

Another set of performers showed up on stage after that as the kids were still changing their costumes from sportswear down to their formal dress, the last part of the event it will be the coronation after that so there were a lot of other performers who went up on stage. One of them was a contestant himself who danced multiple TikTok songs.

These two women were relatives of some of the kids and didn't even know they'll gonna perform that day. Their relative just asked them to dance and they were so cool to do what was requested of them. Isn't it amazing to see an impromptu performance? They did very well!

And now, the finale - awarding of sashes and trophies to the corresponding contestants. Starting with the sixth placers up to the King and Queen.

There were awards also given such as the best in Production number, the best in Sportswear, Most Photogenic, Social Media Award, and more. I don't know if these kids would remember what happened that day but I am glad that these photos I took captured what happened that afternoon and their parents can treasure them forever.

I smile as I see these kiddos holding the photos I took of them and are now framed for their souvenirs. Thank you for making me a part of this wonderful event!
