Shaping Student Personality Through Pencak Silat Extracurricular Activities

Hello all friends, especially friends who are involved in the world of schooling or education in general. May we all always be under the protection of God Almighty. And our children become a generation that is able to answer the challenges of the times accompanied by noble morals and characters.

Education in our school aims to shape the personality of students who are pious to God, have intelligence and have a strong personality by prioritizing noble character. To achieve all that, we, the school, add various activities in order to channel the talents and abilities of students towards the formation of a characterful personality. Because we realize that each individual child has their own potential that requires guidance and motivation in learning.

One of the additional activities that is carried out routinely and is a choice of students based on their talents and interests is the Pencak Silat extracurricular activity. Pencak Silat is a branch of martial arts that requires skills and physical abilities to continue to be nurtured and instilled in students who do have interests and talents. This extracurricular Pencak Silat training is held twice a week.

Here are some photos that I can share when students participated in Pencak Silat training. Assisted and guided by an instructor, the students practiced with great enthusiasm.

Warming up before training is mandatory for every participant to increase body temperature, prepare mentally and physically to avoid injury.

Practice kicking opponents and blocking opponent kicks requires concentration and mental readiness.

Practice hitting opponents and blocking opponent punches.

That is one of the extracurricular activities held and implemented in our school to channel the talents and interests of each student. Because we realize that education not only provides academic guidance but also provides skills and abilities in responding to the challenges of the times.
