Surfing the waves on the shore of paradise

Today was one of the hottest days of the year so far, which is unusual since it's the start of winter here on the southernmost shore of Africa.

It's another idyllic day on the beach, this time with a beach umbrella, since the sun is currently at its solar maximum in the 11 year sun spot cycle. The solar flares and UV radiation may be more extreme than at other times of the decade.

With the Sun so bright and sky really clear, the light is dazzling and thus the pineal gland - which is located in the very center of the skull - is wonderfully stimulated. That's why this is such a healthy place to be.

The secret to good mental and physical wellbeing is to get lots of sunshine and fresh air, both of which are in abundance here. Despite it being the start of winter now in early May, I had to jump into the ocean just to cool down.

1000023024.jpg

What a pleasure. Actually the sea was as unusually cold as the air was hot. The contrast of extremes was quite intense, in a beautiful way. Normally the Indian Ocean is really warm here, but the conditions today were just very unusual all round. Perhaps there is an ocean current pushing up from the Antarctic region, which is - after all - the next continent directly to the south of me, as the seagull flies.

And this heat wave of sauna-like hot air is probably blowing from the inland desert north of here, called the Karoo desert. It happens like this around this time of year, which is why this particular region right at the very middle of the southernmost shoreline of Africa, remains so pleasant in climate all year long. It is the "Goldilocks zone", not too hot and not too cold, but just perfect.

The surfers were out harnessing the waves today, despite their small size on this calm and placid day. Lots of kids on their boogy boards were having loads of fun. By "lots" I mean three or four, since this long stretch of beach is mostly deserted at this time of year in early winter, out of the normal holiday or tourist season. Nevertheless there were surfers and sunbathers really enjoying the conditions. What a beautiful place to be.

1000023224.jpg

All the surfers have wetsuits on since the sea is so unusually cold today. Dipping into it in order to cool down from the heat wave, or berg wind as it's called, was like floating in a glass of ice cubes. I'm sure you know the feeling, since you have floated in a glass of ice cubes yourself on numerous occasions. Wim Hof (ice bath challenge veteran coach) would be mildly impressed.

The contrast of going from sauna air to ice bath sea water is just fantastic, stimulating every cell of the body. It's truly invigorating and perfectly balanced to leave me feeling just fine, regardless of the extremes. They basically cancel each other out. In this way it's possible to enjoy the day on the hot beach by occasionally dipping into the sea to cool down when the need arises. Winter has never felt better.

Besides this, the crisp clear air and bright sunshine really brings out the colors of the landscape and seascape, as you can see in the photos. It feels like I'm strolling through a psychedelic dreamscape here in the south Cape. Since my name is Jules, I call it a Julescape. We all see the world through our rose-colored subjective perception. Here it's easy to look on the bright side, literally and figuratively.

1000023008.jpg

With all this vast empty space, filled with beautiful calm and nurturing environment, I am in Paradise every day, on holiday permanently, living my dream life, with no worries mate. I thank the gods for such a blessing of being born on the southernmost African shoreline. It's appears to be - counter-intuitively - one of the best places to be located right now on the planet.

1000023009.jpg

I wish for all living entities just as much joy, good health, peace of mind, and tranquility as I have here every day on this southernmost shore of Africa at 34 degrees south latitude. There you have it.

Photos my own, written and published from my mobile device on the beach in Paradise. Come and join me when you're ready. It exists, so why struggle when a blissful life is at your fingertips. Nature provides. You just need to desire it.

Hey there many thanks for you kind curation. Good curators are rare around here. The whales like @appreciator @haejin @ranchorelaxo @upmewhale @archange seem to like one post but ignore the rest. It confuses me me with mixed messages.
