The beautiful flora and fauna of Nova Scotia

My camera roll is jam packed with pics of plants, butterflies and various beautiful things I've come across while roaming around so here is a bit of a megapost!

My favorite find has been monarch butterflies. I guess this time of year must be when they are passing through because I have seen so many. I was on a walk and found a patch of goldenrod and there were about 10 flitting around, it was quite magical <3

I'm not sure if this is a moth or butterfly, it's a little more ragged looking but was spotted on my onion flowers:

This one is most definitely a moth, it was sitting on my hose and when I took it to water the garden it stayed there the whole time very unbothered:

Is this beautiful? I guess it's subjective lol. Definitely interesting looking, I believe this is a cicada, it's the first one I've seen IRL and alive. The size of it was rather intimidating! As you can see it was hanging out in my garden net.

Last insect I promise!

I have been seeing tons of grasshoppers and they have such gorgeous colors, one II caught on the woodpile and the other hanging on my weed plant. They both stayed still and posed beautifully for me:

Now onto the flora :)

A small meadow of Lupins which are one of my favorites:

I'm not sure what this tree is but I love it and I want one in my yard:

A cute little spot tucked in the woods:

And last of all some rose bushes growing right in the middle of a rock cliff, they are so strong and can literally grow anywhere it's insane:

TY, I was so in shock with all the butterflies, I see monarchs occasionally but have never seen so many at once!

Your surrounding is so beautiful especially the part where the rose bushes grow. The way the color on that grasshopper pops though, so cuteee

What a beautiful and idyllic place. I like noticing the similarities and differences with the west coast landscape. They seem somewhat similar but also uniquely different. So cool!

I've never been out west bilut based in pictures I've seen the coastlines definitely have a lot of similarities, we have less mountains here tho!

The mountains play a big role here. Everywhere you look, there is a mountain. When I travel to the prairies, I feel really tripped out by the lack of forests and mountains. It is an odd feeling. One of these days, I'll fly my UFO to the east coast :D
