Greetings #Monomad friends & all allied of #Monochromes! I am very excited 😊 having gotten my first chance to share my Black & White photos. I really love them since their moods look like old fashioned.
I was contemplating about what to share, but this title suddenly came to my mind to plan around: "The old trashes." Many people think when we say trashes they are things that have been entirely rejected or discarded and have no use. Yes, they are damaged and destroyed that have been deposited at some place with less attention. However they are like rejected stones 🪨 which can be needed for building in future. When you to museums which you would find old materials for referencing and history. That's the clear picture I see on some trashes. They come in many forms and can be found in many places as well. Today I visited school and found some of these useful trashes around. I quickly remembered in my old age when broken rubbers and tattered aluminum foils were sold for recycling for some useable utensils like pot and buckets.
The old rusted trophies
I found these old rusted trophies on cupboard which have being here for years. Their original colours ranging from gold and silver; I think this may be a mere surface coated with these original metals. I admired them when I saw them here since it reminds me of my childhood when we used to won some for our schools till the following year that we defend again. If we couldn't defend for the next year it means the trophy would return to the next school who was strong to win the trophy. Though we see them to be trashes having discarded, yet we can spray the rusted surface with their original metal colours to become new again.

The old shelf with archaic Books
This is very common in many schools, you would find book shelf for stocking of books, Government text books, Dictionaries and other story books for research. But these ones that I found here are like library books 📚 that have been stocked for years. Most of the back covers have been removed with other haven destroyed by termites. I wonder why they haven't been discarded by school authorities since they have new ones that are in used. upon my inquiries; Government properties like these are not discarded outright since they are accountable by the school authorities. Again, for the purposes of reading, these old books are not trashes. They can still be used by students to learn reading.

The old computer keyboard
This computer keyboard was found at certain place that seemed to have been rejected. It's no more functioning since some parts have been removed and need major repairs. To the owners, it would be better to buy a new keyboard than repairing this one since the cost of repairing would exceed the cost of buying new one. Even with this logical reason, the computer keyboard can be used for different purpose and that is improvisation as teaching resource or material for students during Information & Communication Technology lessons. I think that is the main reason behind it not being rejected.

The mower
This mower has been discarded for some months now looking at its state. I think it was functioning alright but it needs some repairs for it to function again. Most areas of the school would need the services of this mower for cutting down the lawns to the flat level. I really love ornamental field with some flowers in place always giving beautification of the environment. The school park is bushy and needed this mower to mow, it would be a blow for these young students to weed themselves.

Carpenter Experimental tools
At the school carpenter's workshop, I found these tools useable even though some of them have rusted and would need surface polishing in order to get its originality. They are tools that can be used for teaching metal and wood work. I could see G-clamp, chisel, hammer and other heavy metals.

Broken tables and chairs
These broken tables and chairs were found haven deposited at the back of the block. Meanwhile, the school lack tables and chairs for learners. What we need are nails, some few wood and hammer to join them again so that the students can sit on them and make learning very easy for them. We see them as been rejected today but they can be put into very useful shape.

The talking drums
We call them "Atumpan" in our language, but internationally, these drums are called taking drums. During cultural troops, these drums become useful again but we see them today as trashes here. Their uses come occasionally as this school is basic school, but when you go to second cycle and other tertiary institution, their uses are very frequent.

Sugarcane peel
Of course not all trashes can be recycled or be found very useful. I saw these sugarcane peels haven deposited into dustbin so I was contemplating how these can be used for. I could not find any uses of these peel from sugarcane peel. Maybe in some other countries, they have special uses for them or they can be converted to other different purposes.
