Este último fin de semana decidí salir de la rutina y visitar un teatro después de mucho tiempo. La razón principal fue que un buen amigo y maestro de mi universidad era participe de la obra como actor, y me había estado comentando desde hace ya varios meses sobre este proyecto que lo tenía bastante ilusionado.

Una de las cosas que más me sorprendieron cuando llegué al lugar, fue que el teatro estaba situado en el tercer piso de una casa bastante discreta, apenas parecía tratarse de un centro cultural. Sin embargo, al momento de subir, me di cuenta de que el lugar estaba muy bien acondicionado para el desarrollo de cualquier obra (espacio, butacas, luces, etc).

La obra se llama “Adiós al camino amarillo” y se desarrolla en medio de un contexto cataclísmico, el posible impacto de un meteorito contra la tierra. Es en medio de esta situación que nos sumergimos en un viaje de frustración, dolor, miedo y superación a través de 6 personajes muy distintos, pero de alguna manera relacionados entre sí. En líneas generales, esta obra me gustó mucho, pues se vale de muy pocos recursos a nivel de escenografía para contar algo verdaderamente genial. Los personajes definitivamente son memorables y el viaje hasta la llegada del meteorito es cautivador. Pero lo que más me gusto fue la relación que tiene cada personaje con el “tiempo”, el cual juega un papel muy importante en esta historia.

En las butacas del teatro pude distinguir a un par de conocidos actores locales, que también pudieron disfrutar de la obra e imagino tienen alguna relación con el elenco y el director de esta. Al final, pude acercarme a saludar a mi amigo, el cuál desempeñó un impactante papel en la historia como uno de los 6 personajes. Espero poder ir al teatro mucho más seguido de ahora en adelante.

This past weekend I decided to get out of the routine and visit a theater after a long time. The main reason was that a good friend and teacher from my university was participating in the play as an actor, and had been telling me for several months about this project that had him quite excited.

One of the things that surprised me the most when I arrived at the place was that the theater was located on the third floor of a very discreet house, it hardly seemed to be a cultural center. However, when I went upstairs, I realized that the place was very well conditioned for the development of any play (space, seats, lights, etc.).

The play is called "Farewell to the yellow road" and takes place in the midst of a cataclysmic context, the possible impact of a meteorite against the earth. It is in the midst of this situation that we plunge into a journey of frustration, pain, fear and overcoming through 6 very different characters, but somehow related to each other. Overall, I liked this play very much, because it uses very few resources at the level of scenography to tell something really great. The characters are definitely memorable and the journey to the arrival of the meteorite is captivating. But what I liked the most was the relationship that each character has with "time", which plays a very important role in this story.

In the seats of the theater I could distinguish a couple of well-known local actors, who were also able to enjoy the play and I imagine they have some relationship with the cast and director of the play. At the end, I was able to go over and say hello to my friend, who played a powerful role in the story as one of the 6 characters. I hope to be able to go to the theater much more often from now on.
