[ENG-SPN] Visigoths and Templars in the Demand Saw / Visigodos y templarios en la Sierra de la Demanda

Although there is no documentation to validate this, there do seem to be popular traditions that assert that this church, of Visigothic origins and lost on the outskirts of one of the many municipalities, little known to tourism in general, that proliferate within this enigmatic demarcation, which, under the singular name of Demand Saw, belonged, at some point between the 12th and 14th centuries, to a religious-military chivalric order, whose mystical secrecy continues to generate thousands of speculations, both among historians and the general public: the Order of the Knights Templar.

The Demand Saw, legendary and associated with a land dispute between nobles, but where, esoterically, it is also claimed to be a more than likely physical reference to that unique setting, the Dark Forest, where numerous episodes of that fascinating saga of medieval novels based on the Quest or Search for one of the most sacred and, at the same time, most controversial objects in Christianity, the Holy Grail, took place, was also one of those curious 'Places of Power', which, in any case, did not go unnoticed by the unorthodox sense of smell of these knights, whose main leaders were executed at the stake in 1314.

It is known that in the area of Alveinte, they had a monastery, which, judging by the rumors, must also have been a place of punishment for Templar brothers who had failed to comply with any of its rigid rules, and that chronicler of the marvelous who was the so-called 'Magician of Logrosán', the Theosophist Mario Roso de Luna located a primordial center of Initiates in this mysterious region, to which, according to his claims, the last Templar of the Soria monastery of Saint Polo, Ginés de Lara, retreated.

Aunque no hay documentación que lo valide, sí parecen existir, sin embargo, tradiciones populares que aseveran que esta iglesia, de orígenes visigodos y perdida a las afueras de uno de los muchos municipios, que, poco conocidos por el turismo en general, proliferan dentro de esa enigmática demarcación, que, bajo el singular nombre de Sierra de la Demanda, perteneció, en algún momento que hemos de situar entre los siglos XII a XIV, a una orden de caballería, religioso-militar, cuyo místico secretismo continúa generando miles y miles de especulaciones, tanto entre los historiadores como entre el público en general: la Orden de los Caballeros Templarios.

La Sierra de la Demanda, asociada, legendariamente, con un pleito de tierras entre nobles, pero donde, de manera esotérica, se pretende ver, también, una más que probable referencia física a ese singular escenario, la Oscura Floresta, donde se desarrollaban numerosos episodios de esa apasionante saga de novelas medievales basadas en la Quest o Búsqueda de uno de los objetos más sagrados y a la vez, más polémicos de la Cristiandad, el Santo Grial, fue también uno de esos curiosos ‘Lugares de Poder’, que, de cualquier manera, no pasaron desapercibido para el olfato heterodoxo de estos caballeros, cuyos principales líderes fueron ejecutados en la hoguera en el año 1314.

Se conoce que en el término de Alveinte, tuvieron un monasterio, que, a juzgar por los comentarios, debía de ser, además, un lugar de castigo para los hermanos templarios que hubieran caído en el incumplimiento de cualquiera de sus rígidas normas y ese cronista de lo maravilloso que fue el llamado ‘Mago de Logrosán’, el teósofo Mario Roso de Luna, situaba en esta misteriosa región un centro primordial de Iniciados, al que, según sus afirmaciones, se retiró el último templario del monasterio soriano de San Polo: Ginés de Lara.
