[ENG-SPN] Spiders and Cosmic networks / Arañas y redes cósmicas
One of the most relevant quotes from that popular character, whose charisma always strikes a note of sharp discord in a classic of Madrid zarzuela, such as the work entitled "The Dove’s Verbena," the hilarious Don Hilarión—and I apologize for the no less hilarious redundancy—was precisely the one where he stated, with surprising foresight: "The advances in science today are outrageous."
No era, therefore, has contributed to making Don Hilarión and his quote a perfect prophet, at least in his own land, as much as the present Digital Age, whose incredible innovations, however surprising they may be, truly pale in comparison to the sensational discoveries continually offered by that which man has continued to gaze upon with wonder, hope, vertigo, and fear ever since he began to be conscious: the Universe.
The latest discoveries about the composition and architecture of the Universe are now claiming the surprise and fascination of scientists, especially in relation to the so-called cosmic networks, the vision of whose design immediately brings to mind those authentic Vitruvius of nature, the arachnids - potential precursors of Ridley Scott's terrifying aliens - and some fascinating structures, spider webs, which many people view with repugnance, but which, in reality, are a complex work of engineering art, which also fit perfectly with the ancient occult assertion attributed to the mythical Hermes Trismegistus: 'as above, so below'. And to confirm this complex ambivalence between Microcosm and Macrocosm, if we had the opportunity to contemplate at least our part of the Universe from a distance of billions of kilometers, we would see it as a dense and intricate network, very similar, after all, to the one woven by those same beings, spiders, which, like so many others, we regard with indifference and contempt.
