[ENG-SPN] Mysterious Magi / Misteriosos Reyes Magos

There are notable differences about the mysterious figures of the Magi, between the versions of the canonical gospels -excepting, of course, the visionary John- and those others, contained in the Qumran texts and considered apocryphal or false, although they all coincide. in the essential event: the birth of a divine and therefore special being, who should be honored. So, it is not about raising the dust and starting a controversial ecumenical debate, which is not my responsibility, of course. But if there is a question that is not clear in any of the sources, it is precisely the one that sheds light on the exact origin and identity of these mysterious characters, excepting, yes, their unequivocal oriental origin which, in addition, continues making good that maxim that affirms that all Light comes from the East. Much has been debated and speculated about this interesting detail -leaving aside the no less mysterious intervention of the famous star, which not only guided them to Bethlehem, but also stood above the place, cave or manger, where the baby was born. Child God- not being a few expedition members, adventurers and historians, from different times and conditions, who, following the traces of ancestral traditions, look towards the foothills of the Gobi desert and further on, towards the impressive and enigmatic intricacies of the sacred mountains that make up the mountainous chain of the Himalayas, where the existence of a secret, highly evolved and spiritual kingdom is located, which, known by the name of Shambhala or North Shambhala, would secretly govern the destinies of humanity, constituting what Saint-Yves d'Alveydre, called the Hidden Government of the World, being followed, in addition, by great figures of Theosophy, such as its founder, Madame Blavatzsky and An ne Besant, one of his closest collaborators, along with the figure of Colonel Olcott. It is very possible that the American novelist, James Hilton, echoed this beautiful tradition, which has been circulating throughout Asia and in much of Russia for thousands of years, in his extraordinary novel entitled 'Lost Horizons', substituting the word Shambhala for that of Shangri-Lá or Valley of the Blue Moon. A novel, by the way, that was brought to the big screens by the great director, Frank Capra -do you remember that unforgettable archetype of Christmas, which is also his endearing film 'How beautiful it is to live'?- and premiered on the eve of one of the bloodiest episodes in the history of mankind: World War II.
But also the Middle Ages, within their obscurities and their fantasies, seem to have had their corresponding contact with this prodigious place, when, centuries before Marco Polo surprised the West with the fanciful stories of his travels, great personalities of Christianity Like Popes and kings, they began to receive a series of mysterious missives from a no less enigmatic character, who called himself Prester John. As if this were not enough, there are not a few - and I apologize for the redundancy - modern historians, who claim to see the invisible hand of the wise rulers of Shambhala, behind practically all technological innovations and revolutionary ideas - understand the latter, from the point of view of unprecedented or novel- that have been characterizing the turn of the century, helping humanity, or at least, pretending to, to ascend steps in its long evolutionary path. Who knows, if among those innovations that fascinate us so much today, with new technologies -virtual currency, included- there is not the hand of these invisible wise men, pursuing the creation of a more just and sustainable world. Be that as it may -and always keeping in mind those great delegates of the Magi from the East, who were the generous paternal-maternal figures- and assuming or not, that the mysterious figures of the Magi came from this idyllic and unknown place, the truth, after all, is that they have always remained in our hearts, as generous carriers of one of the greatest gifts given to humanity: Illusion. Existen notables diferencias sobre las misteriosas figuras de los Magos, entre las versiones de los evangelios canónicos -exceptuando, claro está, al visionario Juan- y aquellas otras, contenidas en los textos de Qumrán y consideradas como apócrifas o falsas, si bien, todas coinciden en el acontecimiento esencial: el nacimiento de un ser divino y por lo tanto, especial, al que se debía honrar. De manera, que no se trata de levantar la polvareda e iniciar un polémico debate ecuménico, que no me corresponde, desde luego. Pero si hay una cuestión que no queda clara en ninguna de las fuentes, es, precisamente, aquella que arroje luz acerca de la procedencia e identidad exactas de estos misteriosos personajes, exceptuando, eso sí, su inequívoco origen oriental que, por añadidura, continúa haciendo buena aquella máxima que afirma que toda Luz viene de Oriente. Mucho se ha debatido y especulado sobre este interesante detalle -dejando aparte, la no menos misteriosa intervención de la famosa estrella, que no sólo los guio hasta Belén, sino que, además, se situó encima del lugar, cueva o pesebre, donde nació el Niño Dios- no siendo pocos los expedicionarios, aventureros e historiadores, de distinta época y condición, que, siguiendo las huellas de ancestrales tradiciones, miran hacia las estribaciones del desierto de Gobi y más allá, todavía, hacia los impresionantes y enigmáticos vericuetos de los montes sagrados que conforman la cadena montañosa del Himalaya, donde se sitúa la existencia de un reino secreto, altamente evolucionado y espiritual, que, conocido con el nombre de Shambhala o Shambhala del Norte, regiría en secreto los destinos de la humanidad, constituyendo lo que Saint-Yves d’Alveydre, denominó como el Gobierno Oculto del Mundo, siendo seguido, además, por grandes personajes de la Teosofía, como su fundadora, Madame Blavatzsky y Anne Besant, una de sus mas estrechas colaboradoras, junto a la figura del coronel Olcott. De esta hermosa tradición, que lleva milenios circulando en toda Asia y en buena parte de Rusia, es muy posible que se hiciera eco el novelista norteamericano, James Hilton, en su extraordinaria novela, titulada ‘Horizontes perdidos’, sustituyendo el vocablo de Shambhala por el de Shangri-Lá o Valle de la Luna Azul. Novela, por cierto, que fue llevada a las grandes pantallas por el genial director, Frank Capra -¿recuerdan ese inolvidable arquetipo de la Navidad, que es, también, su entrañable película ‘Qué bello es vivir’?- y estrenada en vísperas de uno de los episodios más sangrientos de la Historia de la humanidad: la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Pero también la Edad Media, dentro de sus oscuridades y de sus fantasías, parece que tuvo su correspondiente contacto con este prodigioso lugar, cuando, siglos antes de que Marco Polo sorprendiera a Occidente con las fantasiosas historias de sus viajes, grandes personalidades de la Cristiandad, como Papas y reyes, comenzaron a recibir una serie de misteriosas misivas de un no menos enigmático personaje, que se hacía llamar el Preste Juan. Por si esto fuera poco, no son pocos -y pido perdón, por la redundancia- los historiadores modernos, que pretenden ver la mano invisible de los sabios gobernantes de Shambhala, detrás de la práctica totalidad de las innovaciones tecnológicas y de las ideas revolucionarias -entiéndase esto último, desde el punto de vista de inédito o novedoso- que han ido caracterizando los cambios de siglo, ayudando a la humanidad, o al menos, pretendiéndolo, a ascender peldaños en su largo camino evolutivo. Quién sabe, si entre esas innovaciones que tanto nos fascinan hoy en día, con las nuevas tecnologías -moneda virtual, incluida- no está la mano de estos sabios invisibles, persiguiendo la creación de un mundo más justo y sostenible. Sea como sea -y teniendo siempre presentes, a esos grandes delegados de los Reyes Magos de Oriente, que fueron las generosas figuras paterno-maternales- y asumiendo o no, que las misteriosas figuras de los Reyes Magos procedieran de este idílico y desconocido lugar, lo cierto, después de todo, es que siempre han permanecido en nuestros corazones, como generosos portadores de uno de los mayores dones aportados a la humanidad: la Ilusión.
