[ENG-SPN] Immortal Gaudi / Gaudí inmortal

The arrival of the winter solstice in Madrid is usually the favorite scenario to seduce the public with cultural activities, which, apart from their singular content, also have the powerful magnetism added to themes and personalities, which seem to be revalued through the times, in an eternal loop, where even time and its paradoxical circumstances seem to have stopped forever. This usually happens, especially when the exhibition is based exclusively on one of the most charismatic and relevant architecture figures of all time: Antonio Gaudí. To say that Gaudí continues to surprise, just over a hundred years after his tragic death, run over by a tram in his beloved Barcelona, is, of course, an understatement and a poor tribute to his memory. Gaudí is immortal, as is a work that is still alive, current, guardian of its arcane mysteries and challenging the imagination, with the same strength and purity as it was conceived, when fantasy still had privileges among the Fine Arts and especially, in that, Architecture, where in the Western universities they still continued to worship the figures of Vitruvio and Ficino.

A journey, then, through the spectacular life and work of Gaudí, is something more than attending a cultural event of the first magnitude. It means, as that unrepentant theoretician of the mathematical paradox, Lewis Carroll, already demonstrated, immersing oneself, like Alice, in an environment where wonder serves as a vestibule that allows intrusion, without remorse, into those other worlds, which, according to the memorable principles of surreal poetry, are also in this one.

La llegada del solsticio de invierno en Madrid, suele ser el escenario predilecto para seducir al público con actividades culturales, que, aparte de su singular contenido, tienen, también, el poderoso magnetismo añadido a temas y personalidades, que parecen revalorizarse a través de los tiempos, en un bucle eterno, donde incluso el tiempo y sus paradójicas circunstancias parecen haberse detenido para siempre. Eso suele ocurrir, especialmente, cuando la exposición se basa, exclusivamente, en uno de los personajes más carismáticos y relevantes de la Arquitectura de todos los tiempos: Antonio Gaudí. Decir que Gaudí continúa sorprendiendo, algo más de cien años después de su trágico fallecimiento, arrollado por un tranvía en su amada Barcelona, es, desde luego, quedarse corto y rendirle un pobre homenaje a su memoria. Gaudí es inmortal, como lo es una obra que continúa viva, vigente, guardiana de sus arcanos misterios y desafiando a la imaginación, con la misma fuerza y pureza a como fue concebida, cuando todavía la fantasía tenía y privilegios entre las Bellas Artes y especialmente, en aquella, la Arquitectura, donde en las universidades de Occidente todavía se continuaba rindiendo culto a las figuras de Vitrubio y de Ficino.

Un recorrido, pues, por la espectacular vida y obra de Gaudí, es algo más que asistir a un evento cultural de primera magnitud. Significa, como ya demostró aquel impenitente teórico de la paradoja matemática, Lewis Carroll, sumergirse, como Alicia, en un entorno donde la maravilla sirve como vestíbulo que permite la intrusión, sin remordimientos, en esos otros mundos, que, según los memorables principios de la poesía surrealista, están también en éste.
