[ENG-SPN] A Cultural Heritage Out There / Un patrimonio cultural ahí fuera

It's no surprise that, situated at the edge of that impressive natural fortress that is the Olympic Europe Peaks, ancient architectures still stand, defying the immutable laws of time, producing, in the mind of the surprised traveler who contemplates them, an irrepressible feeling of profound admiration, mostly directed at their compact constitution, which, in some way, brings them closer to that subtle concept that is always eternity.

For them, as for the mountains that shelter them, the centuries continue to be like a blink in the eye of God: they remain standing, with proud resilience, while countless generations, including the one that raised them, centuries ago became motes of dust blown by the wind.

They are the work that outlives their creators and, in some ways, also constitute the anonymous record of those who once dreamed of perfection and made their work something solid and lasting, an indisputable legacy of a faith that, while unable to move mountains, could undermine them and make them a cultural treasure. In the face of their mastery, then, there is nothing but admiration and respect.

No es de extrañar que estando situados a la vera de esa impresionante fortaleza natural que son los olímpicos Picos de Europa, todavía se levanten arquitecturas ancestrales, que, desafiando a las inmutables leyes del tiempo, produzcan, en el ánimo del sorprendido viajero que los contempla, una irreprimible sensación de profunda admiración, mayoritariamente dirigida a su compacta constitución, que, de alguna manera, las acerca a ese sutil concepto que es siempre la eternidad.

Para ellas, como para las montañas que las acogen, los siglos continúan siendo como un parpadeo en el ojo de Dios: ellas permanecen en pie, con orgullosa resiliencia, mientras incontables generaciones, incluida aquella que las levantó, hace siglos que se convirtieron en motas de polvo arrastradas por el viento.

Son la obra que sobrevive a sus creadores y que, también, de alguna manera, constituyen la reseña anónima de aquellos que un día soñaron con la perfección e hicieron de su trabajo algo sólido y perdurable, herencia indiscutible de una fe, que, si bien no podía mover montañas, sí podía socavarlas y hacer de ellas un tesoro cultural. Frente a su maestría, pues, no cabe otra cosa que la admiración y el respeto.
