I attended a wedding after two years

For two years now, I haven't attended a wedding. The last wedding I attended two years ago was with my husband and the wedding was his school mate's wedding. That wedding was so beautiful and I just didn't want to get over it. I had so much to eat and drink that I couldn't lift myself to go home. I looked forward to attending another wedding but haven't had the opportunity to attend another. I wouldn't completely say I haven't had an opportunity. I just think it was an unexplainable reason that made me stay away from events generally.

Well I finally did after so long. When my colleague first asked if I would be one of her bridesmaids train, I just knew I wouldn't escape this one. I said yes and preparations started. I paid for the dress and started looking for styles to match the beautiful lace. I finally did but i didn't send the outfit to the tailor until it was a week to the occasion.

My dress arrived on the eve to the wedding. I tried it and it fit so well. I made a dress for my little girl too so we can wear matching outfits. One of the joys of motherhood for me is wearing matching outfits with my little princess. It gives me so much joy to twin with her. I made her a ball gown which fitted her so well.

Off we went to the event. I attended the reception. Truth is a good number of wedding guests do not go for the church services they rather attend the reception because that's where the whole fun is and I agree with that school of thought. When we arrived, the couples hadn't arrived. So I used the opportunity to take some pictures.

They arrived and the event started. I was so carried away with the whole scenario that I forgot to take enough pictures for my post.Lol.

But something happened to me that almost took my joy away. I didn't eat. If you are a Nigerian, you will understand my pain of not having to eat our signature party jellof rice. Oh my! I am still in pains. The funny thing is that, I was busy giving the food to the people behind me hoping that when they all receive, I will receive mine since it was being served according to the rows.

I was so disappointed when I realized that the food had finished. I looked behind me and saw the mighty chicken laps someone was devouring. I just respected myself and made do with the drinks that I had gotten.

I gave my daughter some cupcakes that was already on the plate in front of us. Good a thing she ate before leaving the house and I also got some snacks too for her just in case she became hungry.

Well, even though I didn't eat, I still had fun. I met some new people and networking took place instantly. Glad I went because I got a client who wants me to bake a cake for her for her mum's birthday. And guess what? She paid right there at the event. I love credit alerts. It gives me goosebumps really.

So that's how my weekend was spent. Wishing the couple a blissful and wonderful married life.
