[ ENG/ESP ] My visit to the Imperial city of Cusco / Mi visita a la ciudad Imperial del Cusco

Hello dear friends of HIVE.
Today I want to tell you about a great experience I had which is to visit the imperial city of Cusco to see and be in Machu Picchu, currently considered one of the wonders of the world.

I took advantage of the last days of my vacation to visit and get to know this beautiful city and enjoy as much as I could. I was a little nervous and excited at the same time because it was the first time I traveled by plane, when I arrived at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco was at night I took a cab to take me to the center of the city and look for a hotel as you know cab drivers are usually very talkative and in that conversation he told me that he and his wife manage a very convenient accommodation and tourism agency hehehe that person inspired me confidence, so I decided to hire the package tour and hotel that he offered me at a reasonable price and the first thing I did is to know the Plaza de Armas of Cusco.
I was there for about a week, I was impressed with the beautiful landscapes of the valleys and the sky with those clouds that looked so fluffy that provoked me to touch them. If you like nature as much as I do, you will love all the flora and fauna that Cusco has among them the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo or the archaeological complex of Pisac among other landscapes and ruins that are in different towns.

One of the tourist attractions that also caught my attention is to be near the mountain of seven colors that is located in the Vilcanota mountain range, you get there by car to a certain stretch, but, to climb it the walk lasted 3 and a half hours, by the height at which it was that is 5. 200 meters above sea level, I got a headache which they say is normal, in other cases people get dizziness and nausea, they recommend that you should be physically prepared, the route can be difficult because the climbs are slightly steep, even at the beginning of the hike they gave me a rudimentary cane and the height was already affecting me a little, my head started to hurt and I felt a slight agitation when breathing despite not having health problems nothing more than allergies, Luckily the guides were carrying a bottle containing a herbal preparation, they smeared some on my hands and told me to smell it, so I did and as if by magic I felt much better because I felt that it revitalized me immediately, it did not smell good but not bad either from my point of view is something neutral but if strong because it is like grabbing your second wind hehehehe and well what they recommend is to make or buy that preparation of herbs, because the height can affect the person who is not used to, that discomfort is also known as soroche.

On the penultimate day of my stay in Cusco I achieved one of my desires which is to be and admire what is currently considered one of the wonders of the world Machu Picchu, for it leaves Ollantaytambo station by train to reach the town of Aguas Calientes located in the valley of the Urubamba River, When you arrive you already feel a great welcome with a sign where the statue of the Inca Manco Capac, from there begins the walk to reach this archaeological citadel that are approximately 2 hours, it was so rewarding to contemplate from there all the view offered by the place, It is so beautiful, I recommend you to also have and feel that unique experience, who knows, maybe you will run into some of the animals that were there as the llamas that I saw so tender, just be careful when approaching because they tend to spit, the whole tour lasts approximately 4 hours and I do not regret the expense invested in this trip and remember for many years this great experience and I am sure that if you have the opportunity to visit Cusco also remember it all his life to have been in the Inca citadel.

Already on the last day I felt a little sad because I had to return to Lima, it is a kind of feeling that makes you want to stay, I did not leave without first taking a walk around the Plaza de Armas and say goodbye with a big smile and satisfaction. I hope to have the opportunity to return and get to know other cities, towns and tourist places in Cusco that I don't know yet.

I hope you found my post interesting and I encourage you to visit Peru.
