PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography Round 149 – Surviving in the city

Contemporary cities, particularly in our so-called “third world” countries, are being built at random, with almost no planning or consideration for trees. Spaces for utility and consumption are being arranged arbitrarily by residents in need. Even so, there are trees that, with their steadfastness over the years, have prevailed and, despite everything, survive, such as the ceiba tree shown in this photo from the center of the city of Cumana (Sucre, Venezuela), amid the chaos and bustle of a public bus stop and various sales and lottery kiosks.

Adaptation, nature has its way of adapting and surviving, irrespective of what happens in the environment.

I believe this is one of those trees that can stand through fire and floods and still survive, truly majestic!

You are absolutely right, although global mistreatment can greatly affect it.
The ceiba is one of my favorite trees, along with the guayacán and the apamate; it grows imposingly. There are many in my city.
Thank you for your kind comment. Best regards, @josemalavem.
