For a while, building my hemoglobin has been the priority, why? overt anemia is not ideal for heart function and worsening heart function equals less blood to other organs of the body, which in turn creates multiple malfunctions. I've taken over two months to understand what volume overload, diastolic dysfunction, oxygenated blood and so many other things meant for my heart function. Cardiologists will hardly explain these things, (at least the ones who are that way). I tend to believe that understanding one's health is better than trusting health personnel to do it for you.

Sometimes, some of them just completely miscue it. I get, sometimes money over passion. It's existent in almost every sector of life, so why should it be different in the health sector? It's not like doctors aren't human. The practice of medicine doesn't change their humanity and their preference for money over any other thing. So sometimes, people are responsible for doing the best for themselves, because no human being loves you like you love yourself. Most of the time, the level of love is what makes a difference and sometimes people without the passion for saving lives treat their patients like numbers.

Away from the gloom and all. Over two months ago, I discovered my sugar level was borderline high, not like high high, 103, it wasn't bad, but a high blood sugar complicates a lot of underlying issues. So I decided to go on a cucumber diet to reduce it. So I reduced the frequency of my morning tea. I already don't take Soda because I know Soda is cancer. Infact it's been over 8 months since I've tasted Soda. Not drink. I mean taste. I only took a little in December 2022 and since then, I've never really taken them.

I've eliminated any forms of refined sugar and maybe only take natural sugar found in carbohydrates. Of course, I still take white bread, but I've reduced the frequency. I reduced my red meat intake, infact I didn't take it throughout November, however I still take some once in a while. I've switched to Turkey and chicken and of course, my dear chef in the house doesn't like fish, but sometimes I mostly persuade her to go for fish, it's always a tug of war. Before she came, I ate a lot of fish. I asked my aunt before then to cook me dishes with fish as I was too moody to even cook at all.

The main aim of this post is that I've not started taking apples, cucumber, carrots, ginger, and garlic water solution. Once in a while, I dabble into watermelon and I add a bit of lemon spray to my fruit. I more or less take it every afternoon. It's expensive and that's the truth and taking the combination of these fruits going three months is not cheap. Cucumber classifies as both fruit and vegetable and while I didn't like it at first, I've grown used to having it in my diet.

Going forward, I'm having to follow some restrictions and maybe, I'll damn inorganic sugar for life and this include cake soda, ice cream, and many other things. However I can still do these once in a while, but most important the increments of fruits and the reduction of red meat is what I've aimed to do going forward. Of course, I've increased my egg intake, I'll be monitoring my heart and kidney function holistically. Of course, I really don't have much to sustain the expensive hematologist I paid towards the end of last year, but then going forward it gets even more expensive.

Of course I think now that you've started healthy eating you are already on the path to recovery, and I wish you a speedy recovery from the health issues. I have a family member who is also faced with the same health issues. We have learnt that eating healthy can be far more beneficial in such situations than drugs. Thanks for sharing.

Im sorry but I find it weird that you have not started eating apples and others that you mentioned
I usually feel like since all of them are fruits, we can always eat them anytime
Anyway, I’m glad you’re taking good care of yourself
You’d be good

Eating healthy is vital to ensure and optimize the proper functioning of the body. I think it's also an opportunity to better understand our human system and how it works. Inorganic sugar is so bad for the system, as it has short term benefits with long term consequences. But people have become so much addicted to it that they find it hard to stop using it even though they know it's bad for them :)

Inorganic sugar is bad but most people with a perfect healthy system will almost not notice it at all. However when you don't have a perfect health, you more or less want to reduce it or stop it completely. The sacrifice is worth it..

Yes, it's definitely worth the sacrifice. Working towards having a healthier system carries a lot of upside. Sometimes, it prevents us from future health problems that we may have the tendency to acquire.

I haven't o, what can I say? I'm trying to help myself and so better by my health and to be very honest it's not been so bad. Anyone above 30 should limit their soda intake and artificial surgar, because of their health too.

It seems that as we grow up, we seem to become restricted in what we can and cannot, should and should not include in our diets. I always wonder what it must feel like for my dad and some uncles to have to force themselves to stay away from meat that I know they love so much. I guess it comes down to choosing good health and survival over the momentary pleasure of taste.

I’m digging this new lifestyle, man. It’s not just healthy, it’s appealing. I’ve never really paid much attention to eating more fruits, but I’m giving it some though now as my mouth drools looking at that bowl of magic here. mmmm

I remember some years back, I could eat and drank whatever I pleased but for a while now, I've been trying to limit even the things I used to like eating. As for your Dad, I think it boils down to the fact that when the body age, we have to make restrictions else it becomes really problematic.

I didn't really like it, infact I hated eating fruits back when I was younger, but nowadays I have to. It's part of my routine. As for the pictures, thank you, plus the fruit is also a delight.

Hello Josediccus! I understand that building hemoglobin is not cheap. I had to deal with this some time in 2022 and I would like to recommend 2 vegetables to add to your diet, I believe it won't be expensive, though you can confirm.

Try to add Spinach and beetroot, especially spinach, it really helped me boost my hemoglobin and for the beetroot, I some times add to my meal or blend it with watermelon, cucumber, and carrots, it really helps.

You will be fine, take care.

Thank you for your recommendation, I have beetroot powder at home, but I've not holistically taken it all these while. I've been trying my best to eat fruits and for over 2 months now I've been on a fruit diet and I can say it's been helping

@josediccus You're most welcome. Keep it up and if you like to eat fish, you can add it to your diet.

Well done 👍

Eight months soda-free? Wow, I have to say, I am impressed by your dedication to avoid. Kudos to you for making those dietary changes. It's not easy, especially when you factor in the cost of fruits these days, but it sounds like you're really committed to it. I raise a glass to good health, cheers.

Well they say the more you get older, the more you should avoid. I took a lot of Soda in my mid 20s and now I'm in my early 30 I have to do right for myself and for my existing health condition as well. I originally do a lot of soda, but eventually it's not worth it.

Such vegetables and all these things are very good for our health and we must eat all these things at noon.

Refined sugar is a cancer, we have a lot of that in most of the food we have here, but I'm gradually trying to stay off it and just have the natural sugar from carb and fruits, it's healthier and better that way.
