These images are my entry to the Special Photo Contest: "Street Photography" and with them I show you the main door of the Necropolis of Colon in Havana, one of the oldest in Cuba, declared a National Monument and noted for its beauty, majesty and great architectural value.

Estas imágenes son mi entrada al Concurso especial de fotografía: "Fotografía de Calle” y con ellas les muestro la puerta principal de la Necrópolis de Colon en La Habana, una de las más antiguas de Cuba, declarada Monumento Nacional y que destaca por su belleza, majestuosidad y su gran valor arquitectónico.

This cemetery is located in a very central place, so at all hours of the day there is a constant traffic of pedestrians and vehicles on the streets and sidewalks. Photographing this gate is not easy (at least for me), I had tried on several occasions and the photos never looked good, because the sun was always over or behind the gate and I got very dark images. Until I was able to get closer at the time when the sun was setting and the light is dimmer and when I looked at this imposing construction I realized that it was the perfect opportunity to take some pictures. I hope you like them, because I confess that I am not an expert, I only photograph what I like and the moments that I consider beautiful.
I would like to comment a little about what this place makes me feel. In spite of being a site that many consider somewhat lugubrious and emotionally charged, it is very beautiful. I think, if I had to spend the rest of eternity here I would be happy. As you walk through its door you seem to cross into another world, a world of peace and tranquility. The hustle and bustle of the street is left behind and you only feel the silence and tranquility that surrounds every corner of this sacred place. In addition, the beauty of its interior leaves us amazed, here we find authentic works of art, its pantheons, sculptures and statues are of a unique beauty. A place worth visiting, full of legends and values of our cultural and historical heritage.

Este cementerio está ubicado en un lugar bastante céntrico, por lo que a toda hora del día hay un constante tráfico de peatones y vehículos en sus calles y aceras. Fotografiar este portón no es cosa fácil (al menos para mí), lo había intentado en varias ocasiones y nunca me quedaban bien las fotos, porque el sol siempre daba encima o detrás de la puerta y me salían imágenes muy oscuras. Hasta que pude acercarme en el horario que estaba ocultándose el sol cuando la luz es más tenue y al mirar hacia esta imponente construcción me di cuenta que era la oportunidad perfecta para tomar algunas fotografías. Espero que sean de su agrado, porque confieso que no soy una experta, solo fotografío lo que me gusta y los momentos que considero hermosos.
Quisiera comentar un poco sobre lo que me hace sentir este lugar. A pesar de ser un sitio que muchos consideran algo lúgubre y que despierta una gran carga emotiva, es muy bello. Creo que, si tuviera que pasar el resto de la eternidad aquí voy a ser feliz. Al traspasar su puerta parece que se cruzara hacia otro mundo, un mundo de paz y sosiego. El bullicio de la calle queda atrás y solo se siente el silencio y la tranquilidad que rodea cada rincón de este sagrado sitio. Además, la belleza de su interior nos deja maravillados, aquí encontramos auténticas obras de arte, sus panteones, esculturas y estatuas son de una belleza únicas. Un sitio que merece la pena ser visitado, cargado de leyendas y valores de nuestro patrimonio culturar e histórico.

My last picture I wanted to edit in black and white following the advice of @jlinaresp who explained to me that street photos lent themselves to this type of editing, me experimenting with editing jeje...
