Havana from the heights [EN/ES]

From the heights, the view of what surrounds us changes completely. From above, the city we are passing through looks completely different, the perspective changes and what once seemed huge to us now looks small and at eye level. Buildings, trees and cars look like small pieces in a moving model.

This could also be a philosophy to apply in life, sometimes we just need to take a distance to see our problems from another angle, but it is not about life that I want to write about, it is about the amazing view that one has from the top of the from the top of The Great Theatre of Havana, Alicia Alonso.

For me the most beautiful thing in the panorama is the great golden dome of the Capitol which seems to be within reach, glittering in the sun, attracting the eye and dominating the view of the landscape.

Down below the city continues its rhythm, people moving through the streets like smaller dots, cars lining up like coloured tiles on an imaginary board, each marking its own path in the urban environment.

From here the tallest buildings cease to be distant and become closer to me, I can see the National Museum of Fine Arts, which stands out with its imposing architecture, rising to the height of my eyes allowing me to better appreciate the beauty of the building in more detail.

Further on I can see the more modern hotels, witnesses to the contrast so usual in the city between the old and the contemporary living together in harmony. On one of the distant buildings, the Cuban flag flies, contrasting with the sky, almost always of an intense blue, characteristic of our tropical climate.

And here, on the edge of this height, vertigo mixes with the emotion and amazement of the panorama. I feel a little tremble as I approach the edge of the rooftop and perceive the distance between where I am standing and the ground, but also the fascination of seeing Havana from a place where not many people usually look down on it.

This tour was a great experience that I would like to repeat and I was fascinated by it. I hope you enjoy the pictures and the fascinating view of the city.

Cheers, and until the next time!

This is literally like the bird's eye view in photography, @jordy0827 ! And I love how this can also relate to our perspective in life, sometimes, we just need a change in perspective to kind of understand where life's directions are taking us. Have a great trip!

How are you, dear friend @jordy0827?

I'm also a fan of these high panoramic shots; the view from that angle is very different. What a beautiful city, gorgeous architecture of the period buildings.

Beautiful shots! I appreciate you sharing them with us.

Have a great day.

Hello! Thank you very much for posting in the Worldmappin Community 😃.

We noticed that you included more than one PIN code in the post. This is not necessary and can lead to double pinning. If you are writing about a trip with different points of interest, it is advisable to indicate only one PIN of the most important place or central location.

Double pinning can lead to problems for our curation, so if you keep doing it we can not guarantee you to be considered for our daily Travel Digest.

We recommend that you obtain the code either from https://worldmappin.com/, or by selecting the location directly on the small map at the bottom of the text editor in the PeakD interface.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our team on our Discord channel.

Cheers!
