CCC's Street Art Contest #169: The Colossus of my City

Greetings to everyone at Street Art 😃!

I'm very pleased to participate again in the CCC's Street Art Contest #169. You can find the contest link here.

I don't like to be repetitive, well yes, sometimes only if circumstances warrant it. The beautiful things don't tired, like this piece of street art that I come to show you today, again by the artist Maisel López.

Many of my photographs in this community (I think all of them) have been by this painter. During my walks through different parts of the city, I have come across many of his drawings. For the most part, Maisel López draws children's faces in large format works, a series of paintings he has called "Colossus". And who is not moved by the innocence and beauty of these faces?

This talented plastic artist is Cuban and has received numerous awards from different art institutions in Cuba. His paintings can be found on various facades of houses and establishments in the Municipality of Playa of the Havana City, where the painter lives. The work I present to you was portrayed by me on the 7th of September of this year. It shows a little girl with a somewhat serious expression, looking up at something above her. I get the impression that she is looking at someone else, perhaps her mother? She must have scolded her for something, and that's why the little girl has that expression on her face.

This painting has been on the wall of this establishment for a few years. The date next to the signature was a bit blurred, but it seems to say 2015. The traces of the passage of time and of being outdoors are noticeable in it, but in spite of everything it seems to me that it has been kept quite well preserved. I hope you still like it as much as I did.

See you next time!👋

My dear friend, I really like the works of Maisel Lopez. I have seen several of these children's faces in the streets of our city of Havana, all very beautiful. Best reegards.
