Continuing with my walks 🚶‍♀ through Havana's Vedado, in this post I am going to show some images of two different sites that are located in one of the great avenues that exist in the Vedado area, The Paseo Avenue.

This is one of the main streets of Vedado. It has a central walkway where it is very pleasant to walk, with many trees, with benches where we can sit and rest and watch the coming and going of people, cars, and enjoy the vitality of this great avenue. Above all, we can recreate ourselves with its beautiful old houses with high struts, large columns, and spacious portals. Many of them built in the late XIX and early XX century and for which it seems that the years do not pass. 🏠

My walk today is only of a small part of this avenue, the stretch that goes from 25th Street to 23rd Street, since it is quite extensive. In all its extension there are buildings that we can not fail to admire, such as the church that is located at the corner of its intersection with 25th Street.

The name of this imposing church is " Parish of Santa Catalina de Siena " it is a building of the beginning of the last century, of the year 1918. Initially it was built as a monastery for the cloister of the Carmelite nuns, and later it was inhabited by the nuns of the order of Santo Domingo, since they had the need to move to this convent in order to have a quieter and more secluded life. 🕍

This church is of gothic style and its extension covers a whole block. You can still appreciate its splendor, with its two domes and its beautiful designs on doors and windows. I definitely have to return here, to photograph its interior, which must be just as beautiful. It is impossible to pass by this place and not stop to admire the beauty of its design and architecture.

Crossing to the corner of Paseo and 23rd, there is a beautiful park, which was restored recently, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Village of Havana.

It is a small but very attractive and cozy park. The first thing we can not fail to observe are its solitary columns, which for me give it a very nice and special view, with large benches of colored tiles and designs that are in harmony with the whole environment.

It is a park well known by all lovers in the area, as many have sat on its benches to romance, including myself.
My first date with my husband was precisely there, so we could not miss going in and sitting on the same bench where 5 years ago we had our first kiss. A very tender memory that we enjoyed reminiscing again.

Continuando con mis caminatas por el Vedado de La Habana, en esta publicación voy a mostrar algunas imágenes de dos sitios diferentes que se encuentran en una de las grandes avenidas que existen en la zona del Vedado, La Avenida Paseo.

Esta es una de las principales calles del Vedado. Tiene un paseo central por donde es muy agradable caminar, con muchos árboles, con bancos donde podemos sentarnos a reposar y ver el ir y venir de personas, autos, y disfrutar de la vitalidad de esta gran avenida. Sobre todo, recrearnos con sus bellas casas antiguas de puntales altos, grandes columnas, y espaciosos portales. Muchas de ellas construidas a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX y por las que no parece que pasen los años. 🏠

Mi paseo de hoy solo es de una pequeña parte de esta avenida, del tramo que va desde la calle 25 hasta la calle 23, ya que ésta es bastante extensa. En toda su extensión hay edificaciones que no podemos dejar de admirar, como la de la Iglesia que se encuentra ubicada en la esquina de su intersección con la calle 25.

El nombre de esta imponente Iglesia es “Parroquia de Santa Catalina de Siena “es una edificación de principios del pasado siglo, del año 1918. Inicialmente se construyó como monasterio para el claustro de las monjas Carmelitas, y después fue habitado por las monjas de la orden de Santo Domingo, ya que estas tuvieron la necesidad de trasladarse hacia este convento para poder tener una vida más tranquila y de recogimiento. 🕍

Esta iglesia es de estilo gótico y su extensión abarca toda una manzana. Aún Se puede apreciar su esplendor, con sus dos cúpulas y sus bellos diseños en puertas y ventanas. Definitivamente aquí tengo que volver, para fotografiar su interior que debe ser igual de precioso. Ya que es imposible pasar por ese sitio y no detenerse a admirar la belleza de su diseño y arquitectura.

Al cruzar a la esquina de Paseo y 23, hay un hermoso parque, que fue restaurado hace poco tiempo, con motivo del Aniversario 500 de la fundación de la Villa de la Habana.

Es un parque pequeño pero muy llamativo y acogedor. Lo primero que no podemos dejar de observar son sus solitarias columnas, que para mí le confieren una vista muy bonita y especial, con amplios bancos de lozas de colores y diseños que están en armonía con todo el entorno.

Es un parque muy conocido por todos los enamorados de esa zona, ya que muchos se han sentado en sus bancos a romancear, entre los que me incluyo.
Mi primera cita con mi esposo, fue precisamente ahí, así que no pudimos dejar de entrar y sentarnos en el mismo banco donde hace 5 años atrás nos dimos nuestro primer beso. Un recuerdo muy tierno que disfrutamos mucho volver a rememorar.
