Weekend Experience - I got excited learning a new skill

It's been a while since I last engaged with the #weekendexperience community, but I've been active on the #hive platform, exploring different communities. Today, I had the opportunity to participate in an outdoor activity organized by my church - as a member of the media team in my church, the church paid for our Photography training so as to expand our knowledge in media.

About the training:

The training took place outdoors, and we were exposed to both theoretical and practical aspects of photography. However, we were faced with lots of challenges as beginners but got some experiences while training.

Training Overview:

The photography training session was aimed to enhance the skills of the media team members in capturing high-quality photographs. The team, totaling seven individuals, actively engaged in the training, seeking to improve their knowledge and proficiency in photography.

Theoretical Session:

During the theoretical session, we were introduced to essential concepts such as exposure and the focus triangle. We learned that the settings required for indoor shooting are distinct from those needed for outdoor shooting. Additionally, we were instructed on how to properly assemble the camera and position their hands for optimal shooting. The paid tutor demonstrated patience and attentiveness towards us, addressing our challenges in capturing images effectively.

Practical Session:

Following the theoretical instruction, we embarked on the practical session. Armed with the knowledge gained earlier, we were tasked with applying what we learned individually. The tutor encouraged us to put their training into practice, and we successfully captured impressive photographs. The practical session spanned over six hours, allowing ample time for experimentation and refinement of our skills.

Incomplete Aspect and Future Plans:

Unfortunately, due to a low camera battery, the training session did not cover all aspects of photography. However, the tutor assured us that he would join our upcoming church service to teach
about the photo editing process. Though the training was cut short, we were so optimistic about utilizing the newfound knowledge in capturing excellent shots during church services.

Conclusion:

The photography training session organized by the church's media team provided valuable insights and practical experience to us. I can boldly say that I understand a bit about exposure, the focus triangle, and essential techniques for shooting both indoors and outdoors. Despite the incomplete coverage of certain aspects, we expressed our enthusiasm and confidence in applying the training in future photography endeavors.

It was indeed a productive weekend ☺️
