Conventional or mechanized equipments to harvest rice ?

It is never an easy task when we harvest rice since the work is done manually and a lot of hands are needed to make the work fast , after the we have cut the rice using the sickle there is another work to get the rice off the plant . Since the rice is now dry we use two common methods to do this in my farming community,the first one requires a metal container like a drum placed on a sack in this case we pick some bundles of the rice and hit it against the drum . This is one of the hardest task of the whole rice harvesting task for me because the strength that's put into this is a lot compared to when farmers make use of mechanized equipment.
The second alternative is the use of sticks or planks of considerable weight and hitting the rice plant , this also requires a lot of strength and labor force to make any kind of progress .
Then the most improved system is the mechanized system for harvesting rice , this system has an edge over the others in so many ways one is that you use less work,less labor force , the harvest is neat compared to the conventional system that requires more work to get to the level of the neatness of the rice harvested using mechanized equipment and it takes less time too.
The absence of this mechanized equipments is the reason why there are less people engaging in agriculture not every one can go through that much stress 😔 .
I really can't explain how my body aches 😭 from this conventional approach but farmers here are used to it since it is how we've been doing it year in year out.
To use a mechanized machine for rice harvesting is good but they're farmers whose rice farm to don't have space for machine to pass through. And besides to use machine will cost more money.
Yes You are right
The level of improvisation using the energy consuming method of beating and removing the rice from the stalk called threshing often time leads to body aches as you have said and moreso it's time wasting but its helps to save capital compare to using mechanized machine which reverse is the case.
