Challenges I have faced during my rice harvest: dryness ☀️ and grain loss 🌾.

Rice is one of the most delicious meals you can imagine, but farming it yourself can present numerous challenges that might make you want to give up.

As other crops near their harvest time, I find that I can take a little break because there isn’t much left to do. However, with rice, it’s entirely different. This stage truly tests you as a farmer.

Any grain crop requires meticulous care as harvest time approaches, and despite all the effort I put into my rice farm, I faced some losses in the long run.

Inconsistent rainfall was a significant issue, as many of the grains did not reach maturity before the rain ceased. To achieve good grain formation, a farmer needs consistent rainfall at specific growth stages.

From a distance, it’s clear that most of the grains are far from mature. The ground has dried out and become as hard as stone, leaving little hope for additional water. Even if rain were to come, it would be too late for the rice.

All I can do now is count my losses and look forward to next year. Fortunately, not all my farms faced the same issue; some did quite well, thanks be to God.
