Up Close with an Alligator | Auckland Zoo Experience 🐊

Time flies, we are already approaching the end of 2025, it feels so recent when I was in Auckland for the Easter weekend and visited the zoo.

I still have lots of photos to share of the animals from the zoo. Today I am sharing with you my close encounter with the alligators, they were two and was in their peaceful mode.

An interesting fact I read about alligators is that they can't generate their own body heat so they have to sun bask. Also they can go for months or up to three years without eating. I never knew about this untill now that am sharing photos of alligators.

Very brave of you lol. Good insights about their heat and not eating for months. Maybe that could explain their beat down attitude in the images.

Bro I am not brave when it comes to wild animals, I like my skin πŸ˜€.
I photographed them from the bridge over them. It is interesting to know about their feeding characteristics.

Oh right! It's the zoom feature? looks very neat and clear. I would also feel comfortable looking at it from afar LOL.

Impressive as an animal, it doesn't make you want to go and pet it πŸ˜€
Have a great day

What a wonderful specimen. That belly looks like it's got a good meal.

The belly surely looks well fed, probably why it is in a chilled relaxed mode.
