One of my adventurous or outdoor activities just before the year 2024 drew to a close was a hike at Taylors Mistake in Christchurch.

I have been to Taylors Mistake with my colleague in the past but not for hiking since he isn't the type that enjoys hiking.

This time around, on the 22nd of December, my friend and I went for a hike at Tailors Mistake. It was on our to-do list during the holidays before our trip to Milford Sound.

Taylors Mistake turned out to be a great walk for us. It was a beautiful day, and every step presented us with breathtaking views on the edge of the ocean.

We reached Taylors Mistake, which is just about a 1km walk, but no, we didn't stop there we continued on to Godley Head summit and photos to follow.

You always find a place with a super beautiful view to relieve stress. Looking at your pictures feels like I'm on vacation there myself.

Am glad the photos make you feel that way, I so much needed this kind of walk last year after closing from work, it was very refreshing.

Amazing, wonderful, stunning views! This beautiful vastness really does inspire one to sit down and just reflect and be introspective.
The name though, looks a bit amusing to be lol.

Lol it was my thought at first when I knew about the name Tailors Mistake.
I read up and it was about Captain Taylor in the 1800s that mistook Tailors Mistake for Sumner or Lyttelton harbor.
I also initially thought it had to do with the road driving up there because it is very windy and narrow.
