The ducks at Groynes Park remind me of the ones at Florida Lake and Zoo Lake in South Africa.

They are friendly and not afraid to come close to humans seeking to be fed. I am not sure what and what not to feed them with here in New Zealand, I need to enquire or read up about that before feeding them in the future when am at the park.

That was a happy moment for me and the ducks at Groynes Park.

It looks like a beautiful park to go for a walk or run to keep fit

It is very big, it certainly has space for walking or running.

That’s so cute to see.
Most of them are Canadian geese. I think there are many different kinds of ducks and geese in that pond.
Some places you are not allowed to feed to ducks. Some you can. Have a look around if there are signs that tell you. 😊

It is nice you can tell what kind of duck they are.
It was in the news last night not to feed a certain bird, so it is necessary to check if it is allowed before feeding these birds.

Some I know… most not hihihi

Oh, thank you must find some more info.
Normally wild birds do get enough food out of their environment.

If feeding is allowed, generally these are acceptable foods; wheat, oats, rice, bird seed, frozen peas or corn, chopped lettuce or duck pellets.

Bread apparently does not make for healthy food, affects growth, never throw food near swans nesting some tips from previous travel into countries with different birds.

Nice big park to enjoy throughout the year!

Thanks for the tip it is very important to check before feeding and bread is the first thing that comes to mind about feeding them.

Better to ask first, bread apparently affects young ones bones, not good for development.

Interesting to read and get to know their kind of preferred food.

Animals are like humans (or visa versa), quick junk food will be taken even if it negatively affects our body, best to eat balanced diet.
