Day 2 in Alpha Motel, Christchurch, NZ
It is my second day in Alpha Motel, Christchurch. It was booked for me to stay for 11 days. So I have 9 days from now to find accommodation.
I am hopeful to find accommodation, two of my colleagues seem to be keen to help while another friend from South Africa connected me to someone in Christchurch, we plan on meeting for coffee tomorrow so I am looking forward to that.
As for Alpha Motel, I am happy with it, it is a self-catering apartment so I was able to cook today.
Alpha Motel is located at 338 Blenheim Road, Christchurch, Canterbury 8041.
Even though it is by the roadside with a view of the road from my bedroom, it is a quiet place helping me to recover from the long flight.
It is also 2.6km from the office, hopefully, when I find accommodation, it should be within such distance.
We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

First day I couldn't cook but I was able to yesterday after doing grocery shopping in Woolworths which wasn't too far for a walk from the motel.

Once you stock in a few basics it will be easier to manage, Woolworths food most probably offers similar to what you had here in South Africa.

That is a very quiet and empty surrounding - how far is it from the shopping centre?
It is great that it's close to the office and the distance is going to make it easy to achieve daily steps for active fit from 1 return trip to the office😀.
Very quiet, I found myself alone on some streets at times lol.
It is 1.3km from the motel.
Lol, I have not used Actifit in a while, it is time I consider using it again.

If you are alone in the street then it means if you get lost you got no one to ask for direction, eyy!
I wonder if the streets around that areas are always empty like that or it could be because it's a weekend?
I use Google, in a country as developed as this I think most will use Google map to get to places, or maybe its just me I use it and rely on it a lot.
I think because it is weekend might be a reason too.

I feel better rested yesterday than Friday, my body will gradually adjust, the 12 hours time zone difference is big, and I am only realizing it now that I am here. I feel sleepy during the day here. 😃

Yes, day 4, I have seen a slight adjustment from me, in another week or two I should have adjusted to the time zone.
Though I felt like calling friends in Africa but quickly realized they are sleeping, I now put my phone on silent when I go to bed because some are not used to the time zone and they call while am asleep.

Yes, the calling part… it’s a challenge. Some want to call you not realising you are sleeping and the other way around too.

Thanks, bro, I feel a bit better today, in another few days my system will adjust to the new time zone. Yes, I am 10 hours ahead of Kenya and 12 ahead of Nigeria, 11 hours ahead of SA. It is interesting.
I am hoping so even if it is to start small for now, I will be okay with it.
