Bird's eye view of Lagos

It wasn't bright weather in Lagos on the 8th of November, it wasn't too cloudy either. There was a section that led to the immigration where I was a little impressed, it was of electronic gate system, I had to scan my boarding pass to pass through.
Other than that you will find me always unimpressed about my country.
I will leave you to decide what you think of the view from above, no trees, no greenery view...
I am sure Nigeria has land fertile enough for trees to grow.

I think electronic gate system is becoming a norm now. Perhaps, it's the area and its proximity to the airport but I was expecting to see multiple storey buildings or skyscrapers.
Nothing been impressive to me from Lagos, so seeing they managed to have an electronic gate system at the airport surprised me.
The skyscrapers are more in Lagos Island. You would expect such close to the airport with big businesses.

Drab, that is about summary of Lagos, a dust bowl from the air.
What irks me is the exact same thing happens with new neighbours arriving, first thing to go are the established trees, apparently scared of snakes?
Enjoy the green in New Zealand it will impress to say the least.

It didn't take long for me to get sick, actually, each time I visited Lagos I was sick and got myself treated immediately after returning to Benin but the last one of spending 3 weeks in Lagos got me badly. I am still recovering from it.
NZ has been nothing but impressive, I had a drive through the affected area during the earthquake in Christchurch yesterday, and the place is looks so green and beautiful.

There will be plenty of time during the Christmas holidays so, I am surely going to do some exploring before the busy 2024 arrives. From what I have seen we are going to be busy a lot with work.
As for exploring, thankfully my job is mostly on the road, so I explore as I work.
Sure to enjoy the summer exploring, much to see, do and learn about completely different to Africa!
Have you converted your SA drivers license across to NZ, it should be no problem, much easier to buy a small car for yourself once settled.
No, I haven't I will do that probably in December or when I get a free chance from work. I learned it is quite easy and quick to do.
I might be getting a company bakkie within the next 3 weeks so that, can keep me mobile until I buy a car.
Do the license transfer ASAP it makes life a lot easier carrying the card and locking up you ID and Passport somewhere safe in the home.
Will help in saving till you obtain a small run around vehicle if you have a bakkie to move around in too.
