A Scenic Stop at Waitaki Dam 🇳🇿
The stop at Waitaki dam was on the 11th of December 2025, as I wrap up my workload for the year before I traveled on the 19 of December to Benin 🇧🇯.
I was driving from Cromwell to Glenavy for work the following day. With all my frequent New Zealand travels, state highway 83 along lake Waitaki hasn't been a frequently used route.
So, I kept admiring the lake and had a quick stop at Waitaki dam for photos 📸. I recall being very tired also, so it was a brief refreshing stop as I was closing in on 40 000km drive from January to December last year.
It was a beautiful day, and it presented the opportunity for beautiful shots.

An incredibly beautiful stopover. The fatigue was immediately paid off by this beautiful view.
Beautiful spot no doubt, the slope of water in the damn is quite fascinating.
