I lived in a small Province of Poggibonsi between Siena and Florence...
Walking through the medieval corridors of Certaldo Alto.a very charming place with a lot of history...

When it rained for a week, and the sun came out, there was only one way...
Drive on the road to enjoy and interact with the natural resources of Italy 🚗😋

This is the place around where my partner lived, Certaldo Alto. That old Tuscan energy.

Then the first stop had to be Il Pietretto... or (Le Caldane) a such beautiful thermal baths with warm water springs that have therapeutic properties known since Etruscan-Roman times...The water, clear and rich in mineral salts, with purgative properties, was in fact known to remedy various ailments including skin rashes. The experience in this ''magic well'' was incredible, but during May, the water was very cold!

The baths were destroyed by Sienese troops in 1260 and were partially rebuilt around the middle of the fifteenth century. The flooring of the pools, originally made up of mosaics, was partially restored at the end of the 19th century with results of dubious value. Even today, the ancient thermal baths are used by the Colle population who seek relief from the summer heat.

The water that flows from the springs flows into those of the Elsa river which is enriched with water right in Colle Val d'Elsa.

If you pay attention, you can end up enjoying various fruits on the way to the refreshing waters of Tuscany.

We continue our walk towards Follonica. There, that was the main objective. Gather mushrooms to make our lunch and take a dip in the paradisiacal beach.

Very close to Follonica there is a small beach with a humid and rich forest called Cala Violina.. go there and enjoy nature and even go out with lunch... Me Garba!!!🤤

The walk to Cala Violina beach is full of Nature and under the trunks and leaves, you can come across beautiful Porcini, such as the incredible mushroom Ball... some little animals e fresh air!

This guy is very tasty! But be careful with it, it needs to be very white and with a certain hardness... it's interesting because it doesn't have a stem and stays in the ground like a ball of rice... spore spray, but be careful about that Spray 😅

After the harvest, we finally arrive at BEACH !!!

The beach is in the province of Grosseto, within the Reserva Natural delle Bandite, in the town of Scarlino. The Reserve is within a forest complex of 8700 hectares that are part of the towns of Castiglione della Pescaia, Gavorrano, Scarlino and Follonica.

Cala Violina is a long slot of white sand, located at the foot of the hills of oaks and maquis and hidden between two hills that protects it from the winds. The sea water is crystal clear, the sand is fine and white, and just a few steps from the shore you can see colorful algae, shells and other aquatic creatures.

In the clear and fine sand, it is possible to see deposited in banks of the seaweed Posidonia Oceanica that guarantees a healthy and vital habitat for many types of fish. It helps to oxygenate the water and is an index of purity and clarity of the water, sometimes it is possible to find its remains brought by the tide to the beach.

The beach has clear, grainy sand, made up of tiny grains of quartz. The unusual name comes from the sound that the sand emits when stepped on, which resembles the sound that a violin emits. However, to listen, a certain stillness is essential. Its waters are crystalline, the clear and beautiful landscape is completed by the typical Mediterranean pine landscape, which is very dense, descending to the beach.

To get to the beach, you need to arrive early and walk 1.5 km through the forest, which at least is in the shade, because the area is a preservation area, and the number of people on the beach is controlled. But it's worth every sacrifice! Transparent water and a peace…

There it was just a chillin moment in the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean. The beach is long, but our place was in the left corner of the peninsula where people dived and had fun on the rocks.

Simple risotto, based on turmeric, garlic and the fried mushroom itself. Where it was crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside, a special ''cloud'' flavor on the inside.

On the way home, we stopped at another well of clear water to watch the sunset facing a field of lavender. Graziemille

This is Tuscany as seen through my eyes on a Thursday morning, off work... we traveled 160 kilometers, and it cost us approximately 5 Euros each with gasoline and money to pay for parking at the entrance to the beach. This type of adventure is always very enriching!

I highly recommend living in Tuscany, not only in artistic, historical, culinary tourism, but also immersion in nature.
