How to create a unique graphic illustration.

Hey yo, good morning #hive, all good?!

Today I'm going to share with you a project that I was able to cooperate in carrying out for Airdrop Culture, a Brazilian surf brand.

consists of how to create unique graphic art.

  • Develop a broad view of the fields of activity and possible references for carrying out the work.
  • Try something crazy that doesn't make much sense initially, to create the first shapes.
  • Try to develop an appreciation for work development, this way it will be easier and lighter.
  • Do not copy. The fine line between essence and tendency is linked by an artistic intuitive discernment.. yes, there are great research and analysis standards, but it is from the core that is created and recreated based on ''NADA" we are SURF core
  • Have mastery of your tools, whether an iPad Pro, Adobe package or at the very least, your body energy, mental energy and spiritual energy, all heated or minimally aligned, also allow for greater potential for creativity.

To begin with, it is necessary that the artist, or those involved in the projects responsible for development, have in mind what will be the direction of development, even within an open book of possibilities, there is a theme, a synopsis, with art being the same thing.

I will give an example of my situation for better understanding. It was 2021, and I needed to finish the drawings for the ARDRP end of year collection, Turn The Light. We had already completed part of the illustrations, but something original Airdrop Culture was missing, and something that the brand has as essential is the handmade drawing, with unique features.

But what would be in these drawings that would make the art even more unique?
An element, a shape, something inherent physical that happened to be based on the illustration... as an example, I'm in the photo below, playing this beat, something that the artist didn't know how to distinguish from scratch, he soon took it from that moment to build digital art.

At that time I had returned from Punta de Lobos Park, from a surf/work trip and a Chilean friend sent me this photo of a cold, lonely session in Pichelimu, La Puntila. The photo was beautiful, and when my partner saw this image, he told me, send it to me, I need it!

Basically João Lirio, filled this image with the potential of inspiration for the creation of the last illustration, so the surfer present in the illustration is me, but in a more punk version, facing the wave junction, maneuvering on a sharp bench of volcanic stone.

What I meant by this post is that projects that have history tend to recreate the arts under new versions and improvement implementations, making the art have multiple applications and a line of development. I always try to work with what I really live, and I do, it seems that when something is created according to something that you live enthusiastically, it has great efficiency.

I hope you enjoyed this sharing. Create with what we are inclined to do, so the wave can be less turbulent and more pleasurable on the way to work.

See you in the next swell :)
