When The Heavens Open

Filipo Made Tracks Out To Sea

It's been blistering outdoors throughout the land hitting high numbers during this last week, then Filipo brewed up, we thought we were in for another thrashing from above.

Cross Winds Yesterday Afternoon

Fortunately today's news Filipo landed briefly in Mozambique, we caught some on the upper north coast, currently swinging out to sea. Roasting yesterday waking up to cloud cover today, cool breeze floating over the hills and valleys.

Not everyone is so fortunate to have some rainfall we had 20mm in as many minutes today just before 14h00, some lightning thunder, quick downpour then my first little bird came out to sing with joy!

The Downpour

In Johannesburg my sister is still in sweltering hot conditions, hopefully not for long, autumn officially approaches the nights inland are cooler, time almost right with daytime temperature to come down!

Singing For Joy

Slogan used by weather service certainly reminds one instantly about the upheaval we are currently in, both past and present, be it financial, political, living day today, wake up each morning in hope life gets better, even if only in short bursts.

The temperatures in much of the world are very high, yesterday here in Corrientes Argentina the thermal sensation reached 55 degrees Celsius
It's good that the rain has arrived, and brought a little relief that even the birds enjoy it.
I hope Filipo doesn't come ashore
Thank you very much dear friend @joanstewart for sharing this situation

Filipo swinging out in south/eastern direction losing traction so hopefully on it's way to settle across the Indian Ocean.

Thanks for visiting, summer has not been fun your region enough to fry an egg on the pavement.

Yes, our summer has been very intense, and we still have almost 60 days until autumn arrives, we have to hold on a little longer
Have a special afternoon

Yes, I agree with you.

Have lived through some very big floods over the years on the coast, nothing prepares you for the devastation.

That satellite image really shows the storm battering against the mainland! We don't get that too much as our coast is sheltered by loads of islands and peninsulas.

Although we still manage to get kak weather 🤣

Mozambique gets hammered regularly one has to feel sorry for the people as most these massive fluctuations move over them first. Madagascar cannot stop the force they too often suffer from Indian Ocean mega systems.

More kak here of late, mopping up operations after strike action, plenty rivers in a bad way. Oh and elections at end May, gatvol all round!

Hopefully as your Autumn approaches the temps will cool down. Good you didn’t get much of Filipe. Happy to see the little bird singing after the rain.
Now on this side of the planet, I am anxiously awaiting the warmth of our spring. 😊
Take care my friend.

The rainfall will do some good for the gardens over there.
Over here the temperatures have dropped, last Saturday it snowed a bit I had to pour water to rinse it off the windscreen.
Colder days are ahead for both countries.

Your cold is sure going to be cold for an African, hope you ready for it!

Rain was short but sweet, then back to humid and hot. Another month or so before we will shut up about the heat for awhile 🙃
