Steamy Summer

Warm Indian Ocean Hot Days Balmy Nights

It's not the heat that gets you down but hot, sultry days average around thirty-two Celsius, balmy nights sit on average during early evening around twenty eight Celsius, the humidity wears you down.

Late afternoon you watch the humidity pooling in the hills below, anything can change suddenly, windy, cyclonic weather circling around with crazy lightning bolts hitting down or going up, scared animals due to intensity.

IMG_6336.JPG

Currently with our loadshedding we often end up in darkness with crazy weather above, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, you watch and wait hoping it passes over, sooner than later.

Last night much of Durban suffered flooding again, roads washed away, e-coli in sea all beaches closed. People are hot, tired, despondent, clean up starts once again, trying to feed, house, find clothing, many still waiting assistance since April 2022 flood where housing/repairs have not been supplied.

Loss of life appears to happen every time whether four or forty, while our leaders spend time holding gala dinner for the ANC celebrating their 112th. Jetting off to ICJ hammering a drum beat, posturing, instead of attending to home affairs (majority of South Africans are not happy!) Division between people where it's never been evident previously, many hang their heads in shame at simply being where we currently being represented.

This is where I wish you all a wonderful week, questioning is ongoing, no one is ever right or wrong, simply smile and greet whoever crosses your path, life is much the same if not worse in their circumstances right now.

Ah
This side of South Africa is new to me. I always thought of it that people are really happy there. But it is the same as here, only the elite are enjoying the moment and common people suffer.

When I see the mist stuck between the hills it reminds me of how our people feel, willing to move together being many different cultures and creeds, work together.

Alas the top structures have placed us on a difficult trajectory where private sector have been silenced, majority not educated now enslaved with no work to enable growth.

Oh Joan, and how my head is hanging in shame at what our government is doing, it's despicable! The ANC are not interested in their own people, it's a crying shame!
Everyone is on high alert again with another storm forecast, I just hope it misses Durban this time.
I really don't like this time of the year, the heat and humidity is just awful!
Take care Joan, hope you have a good week ahead.

This next move by the government is going to cost the country dearly, like we haven't suffered enough without stupidity.

Last night we got hit again... not as bad but sufficient to have me up to the early hours keeping watch that no mudslides or anything untoward happens.

Weather.jpg

More this evening is projected, simply too hot during the day, yet not the hottest as in September 2010 we hit 40C, these years of heat with rain.... not nice!

The climate is so different nowadays that it is no longer clear which season we are in, here in America it is so hot that in December we did not feel even a little bit of the usual cold.

Many changes, that the less fortunate ones are not prepared to receive them when the rain floods us and takes everything in its path. It is unfortunate that those who can do something are busy in social and partisan events.

Beautiful proverb, always full of wisdom.

Thank you @joanstewart for sharing these moments of reflection with beautiful images. Best regards. 😊

Cycles have changed, normally seven years each way, will have to wait to see what comes, hopefully your cold arrives and our heat disappears.

Building into historical flood plains or wetlands, what greedy people have done to be on waterfront views, they will pay dearly in the long run. Poor also build shacks close to water for convenience, always hit with floods.

Have a wonderful day!

Not nice about the flooding again, it seems the the flood is becoming rampant in KZN in recent times and it doesn't help as the government isn't prioritizing a solution and safety for those affected.

While they party, jet around on taxpayers money we the people on the ground just keep moving ever slowly two steps forward one step back!

Currently sitting through loadshedding once again Stage 3 at the moment, it is hot, humid and nerves are frayed after another massive electrical storm with deluge of 40mm midnight last night.

WHO sitting in Davos spouting a new Disease X what will be left for the next generation?

Haha! I have taken a beer out there in the summer time but never the winter yet. I bet the snow would keep it cold!

I think I am over Durban's summers, lived here long enough and never adjusted 🙃

Hot weather and humidity is not a good combination, the results are very unbearable days.
I regret all this tragic situation and its consequences in loss of human life, above all I regret that those who have to do something, do not do it.
Beautiful shots of nature
Happy start to the week

We go to voting polls this year, we must vote these cadre out, country is on a slippery slope, all except the Western Cape where some sanity has prevailed.

Happy new week to you too!
