Inner Child Walking Tidal Pools

Sea Pools, Beaches Who Doesn't Love Them?

Remember to arrive with old takkies/plimsolls/trainers no matter what you call them, here you will need them to save your feet being shredded by rock barnacles, better grip for getting around.

IMG_7464.JPG

Pools most definitely will bring out the child in me, gazing in to see crabs scurry around, sea weed gently waving back up, anemones or waves crashing close, it's intoxicating breathing in sea air.

IMG_7469.JPG

Balancing act between the rocks a gentle reminder you go slower now, pace of life alters with exhilaration, wishing to visit many pool each slightly different the closer to where the sea now low tide breaks across rocky bay.

IMG_7476.JPG

Well worth checking tide and timing to be here for a low tide to enjoy respectful, educational fun, learning by watching who dances in the same pool together.

IMG_7489.JPG

As always enjoy by looking, photographing never touching, nor remove anything these living creatures left in nature to teach up coming generation, perhaps your grand-children or children would love witnessing them one day.

IMG_7474.JPG

All have an inner child, most glorious place to enjoy is in tidal pools, leave only footprints take away memories that last forever!

See pools sure do call for childishness, the beach generally is a place to exhibit a playful side of us with endless space to run around having fun.

Good evening Joan

Balancing not always great on slippery rocks, always be prepared to get a little wet. One of the few places for closed shoes to have some fun between the pools.

Have a great day, almost weekend again.... where does time go?

So many lose the sense of a little adventure, arrive down the path take photos and disappear back into cars. Arriving when tide is retreating staying a good couple of hours is a must.

Always enjoy seeing young families teaching little ones what is in the pools or how to fish from the rocks (need a license here).

Have an amazing day, hopefully another excursion down at the waters edge.

Beautiful Joan, I love to explore such areas at the beach, you can find so many little treasures, crabs, fishes and more. Let's hope that our grand kids will still be able to enjoy such places too 😀

Don't need children or grand-children for an excuse, go down to enjoy the pools, falling off rocks, revitalize youthful memories.

Try remember what you recognize spotting creations, how often we forget small things that brought lots of fun into our lives.

You're right, there have been so many little things that made much fun when I was a kid, and these were no toys you could buy at a shop.

Most still not obtainable in a toy shop nor computer screen, may take the edge off a little, never beat the actual sensory bliss being out doing it.

Kids are still baking sand cakes in the sand pit on the playground, but they don't eat them ... we did and we are still alive 🤣 !LOLZ

Sand cakes were flying projectiles like snow balls, then go home and face the music!

Now big children make sand castles yup oldies, little ones dance around waiting to jump them flat, or a wave arrives washing all away.

!LUV a spoiler alert children very seldom do what we did.

Haha, oh yes, they could also be thrown 😁 !LOLZ

We have built sand castles with our kids when they were young, and most fun we have had when we jumped on them 😀

Days of good clean fun, clean since you were right next to the water to rinse off in a swim. A place we really never got scolded for being a little wild in play.

It's very different today - children's games are different and at least where I live you can hardly hear them playing outside anymore. We got dirty in the woods and wet in the brook and our mom yelled at us because she had to wash our clothes again 😂 !LOLZ

Children here still play outdoors enjoying themselves, only difference now is no longer on the street normally in garden only.

This generation are so restricted one seldom sees cycling unless parents take them to a park where able to enjoy off the roads away from dangerous traffic.

Special clothing was allotted to our activities, always came home pretty dirty.

We have a little park with playground and much grass between our apartment houses and it's in a safe distance from the street, but I don't hear often children playing.
At home, where I have grown up, there was and still is only one small road and we have played everywhere including the road because the few cars which were driving haven't meant a danger for us 😀

Yeah, we also didn't use our school clothes, because they needed to stay clean 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh, I so miss the sea... I don't think I will be able to see it this year though. Great pics by the way.

And I agree with you...Look, take photos...but don't touch or remove, that future generations can also have the same privilege to enjoy and learn!

Have an amazing day and keep smiling.

Oh my word this brings back my childhood memories of endless afternoons (once homework was done) and long weekends growing up on the South Coast. Which beach is this Joan? I'm sure much has changed but each shot is like a flash back to a very sweet childhood. Except those barnacles. I remember being knocked over by a wave and dragged a couple metres over the barnacle rock face....

This is Mission Rocks up in iSimangaliso region, North Coast, under parks board management.

Plenty of excellent places available to visit not damaged by polluted rivers, either far north or south.

Barnacles strip your hands, feet, always extra careful now, when younger we really did not think of consequences, painful!

Pools bring out the inner child, even a puddle in a road one does a one footed hop through hoping to splash whoever walks beside you 😂.
