Happiness Is Birds Feeding

Food For Thought

Not every bird in the sky has the good fortune of being fed, most seek out their own on the ground below, flying high or low feeding a nest with hatchlings or themselves, continuing life cycle normally something to eat out there.

Kathi Hutton - 'I don't feed the birds because they need me; I feed the birds because I need them.'

African Firefinch (Lagonosticta rubricata) - On Garden Wall

Small birds and big do have a varied diet, more often seed and insects, small birds mainly rely on seeds to the best of my knowledge.

Although many are fed while being rehabilitated many will return to the wild scouring the rivers for fish, found on healthy rivers where they build nests. Also known to take smaller birds, small animals in a mixed diet.

Mocking Chat (Thamnolaea cinnamomeiventri)

Known to eat fruits, insects and some nectar by what I have been able to research on this sweet little bird.

Thanks for joining me and sharing bird life in South Africa, love to feed them, see who arrives, some love the seed others appear to thrive on nectar!

That duck looks beautiful in those colors. Eagles are my favorite bird, I admire them for their strength.

Raptor sanctuary in the Berg a well worthwhile visit. We have these birds wild here on the coastal rivers hear them regularly when water conditions are ideal.

Ducks at Crocworld another lovely mix of animals, looked after or in rehab, these looked to be quite happy able to fly away if they so wished.

Birds of all sizes and shapes fascinating and I agree with Kathi Hutton's little quote, they are so entertaining to watch.......I need them!
I hear birds in the bird baths, (I have a couple on my small garden) and very often go outside to watch them have the fun of diving and splashing around alone or playing together. They always bring a smile to my face.
Beautiful photos @joanstewart👏

All shapes and sizes make my day, an unusual call will pull me outdoors to explore.

Birds in my garden have feeder close to jasmine bush to escape into. Under my kitchen window where most shade is offered in summer months a small pond with pump running like a natural pool, birds enjoy showering in it.

Never placed pond for my photography pleasure more for birds to enjoy, tight corner where I very seldom am able to capture them enjoying themselves.

Just like human beings, we all have different kinds of situations but anyhow. It's life and it's part of it and that's what makes it beautiful.

By the way, that eagle looks very big.

Love all my visitors in the garden or when out on holidays.

Some of the small birds I find difficult to ID, always exciting once you are able to know what you looking at.

Birds are fascinating to watch, when first rains arrive in warmer months the flying ants rise from underground mounds, party time!

This is when many species arrive to snack up, Drongo, Swallows, Kites along with many other bird species will take to the sky above feasting as ants rise.

Irony is most will eat a balanced diet depending on species.

Something like humans some prefer staying away from meat, hell no I am last in line on that!

Thanks for taken and visit.

Wonderful pictures, I especially like the one of the eagle.

Bird watching is so peaceful. It is very much like having a fish tank to watch and enjoy, lots of activity with very little noise.
Silence is golden.

Have a great weekend.

Thanks for the tune. I never heard this version by the Tremeloes, but I've listened to Frankie Valley and he Four Seasons sing this song many times.
Having fish, you don't feed them they die, birds just dine somewhere else if the feeders are empty.
Thanks for the LUV my friend.

Birds are totally free... until you feed them, good to hear you enjoyed the tune, sometimes suddenly pop into my head while reading content.

Regards to both of you.
