Embrace Living

Soul Replenishing Beauty

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw

In moments of uncertainty simply placing one foot in front of the other taking time to absorb life around, excessive rain broke the heat, that has since arrived back once again. Swings and slides in weather and life appears to be news of the day, lets take a break and I will show you some of what I have seen.

PXL_20250305_003011558.jpg

First up is the small Natal forest tree frog that appear after rain, above taken through the window at night not wishing to harm it, the second sleeping on a leaf in broad daylight which I have not seen often as they appear to disappear when the sun comes up. Each little one in it's own special colour!

Male and female Red-billed Firefinch feeding together normally mid to late afternoon arrivals to the bird feeder.

IMG_9890.JPG

Next day I heard the quiet call they use, watched this little male capturing my attention.

IMG_9962.JPG

White-bellied sunbird has been in formative song still raining waiting to enjoy some sunlight, flashing iridescent blue-green upperparts makes zooming in required, normally perched on top of the bush.

IMG_9902.JPG

Female not quite as dressed in plumage hiding deeper within the trees taking life easy, when the sun had reemerged.

IMG_9936.JPG

Powder-puff tree starting to burst with extra pollen for birds and insects to visit in the change of season months.

IMG_9905.JPG

Morning skies have sharp blue appearance, sharp red contrast against the blue giving a moment in a colourful world.

IMG_9943.JPG

Clouds dance above showcasing cross winds, evident during time outdoors watching above and below to enjoy the healing power offered, quenching mind and soul taking breaks from conflicting thoughts and emotions brought about in this world we live in.

IMG_9926.JPG

Butterfly season, many shapes and sizes, we should be free on a breeze as they are yet tangled grounded here we are!

IMG_9953.JPG

Wishing each and everyone a wonderful week ahead, stop to appreciate life as it is before it is too late.

Good afternoon, dear friend @joanstewart

The same thing is happening here too. We've already entered fall, but the heat isn't letting up.

What a great way to escape the heat while being close to nature and wildlife.

What natural beauty! Nature is breathtaking.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

Always a treat being outside, few days cool with rain then back to extreme heat. Normal problems with floods, electricity and water shedding, living here has become questionable.

Good afternoon, dear friend. The photos are beautiful! It's so good when a person not only mindlessly goes to nature, but knows how to stop and notice the locals. And even more so to share it with others. Awesome

Our tree frogs really are tiny, arrive in delightful array of colours as well. Birds around the feeder, constant friends to enjoy.

Beautiful butterfly you photographed, I like the color patterns especially towards the neck area.

Beautiful photos Joan! I so miss seeing the garden birds up close since having Poe! The Red-billed Firefinch is beautiful. A hot summer's day today again! When will autumn arrive and stay!
I hope you're keeping well Joan <3

In between all the chores it's imperative to take walks, clear the brain fog.

Red-billed Firefinch have become accustomed to my random walks around the garden, much more settled allowing me quite close of late.

Roller-coaster ride into the cooler season once again, hope you too are feeling better!

Throw myself into keeping busy, best with short breaks in the garden. Raining all day today, being housebound is tiresome to say the least.

The garden is so therapeutic. Ours has gone to hell in the last while with water shortages and Zak working so hard. Hopefully, we'll get it looking beautiful again soon ❤️

Gardening is an on-going task, slightest neglect here you turn around to a jungle. Come winter much thinning to be done once again.

Veggies can be watered using this method, I believe it works well for those who cannot constantly maintain being at work.

Brilliant! @Zakludick have you tried this? Yes, our garden also becomes a jungle in the winter!

Waking to birds in song, sleeping with frogs croaking, life is like a butterfly we don't linger long enough to always enjoy.

Waooo!!

That is a tiny frog I would say ours are about double in size 2 to 3 cm in length, when rains arrive three to four are assisted back into the garden nightly as they are attracted indoors I think by light.
