Daydream Believer

Positive Vibrations

Oh I could hide more often than not, now on a positive note why? Life ain't easy, but it's never that bad either really is it?

IMG_2807.JPG

We wake up each morning with a song in our head or the birds singing joyfully outdoors greeting arrival of dawn, fills us with notes of passionate anticipation of what to enjoy, not what to dread.

IMG_3044.JPG

Fondness for yesteryear seldom leaves us, yet desire to explore more in anticipation we look forward, when people put you down, get up, dust off keep moving. Our infatuation with so much happening clogs our minds, change stimulates suspicion toward the unknown which most are noticing right now.

IMG_3045.JPG

Many feel the foreboding, ever looming negative vibes happening, push away from media news streams, make our surrounding what we want, dictators are merging in so many ways we have to be strong and stick together.

Male Vervet Monkey - Females Stick Together Protecting, Teaching The Young.

IMG_3254.JPG

Our world needs more upbeat songs, teamwork, collaboration to rid the negativity being smeared currently, no matter where we go or what we do we are under a constant watchful eye by someone....

IMG_3459.JPG

It's not good, learn to live with it, put suggestions below of how you overcome negative vibes through music! I want to hear your happy songs that bring you the feeling of being alive, within the moment in a positive way.

IMG_3259.JPG

Silver brigade or slightly younger, we had great times.... Time is now to share, our parents came through a massive depression worldwide, world war two, changes all around in each country, history tells us we the people are stronger together.

IMG_3611.JPG

Starting the weekend on a positive note, a little walk down memory lane to get into the mood to have a fruitful weekend in whatever you do.

Daydream Believer
By The Monkees

Seven-a
What number is this, Chip?
Seven-a!
Okay, know what I mean, don't get excited man
It's 'cause I'm short, I know

Oh, I could hide 'neath the wings
Of the bluebird as she sings
The six o'clock alarm would never ring
But it rings, and I rise
Wipe the sleep out of my eyes
My shavin' razor's cold and it stings

Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen?

You once thought of me
As a white knight on his steed
Now, you know how happy I can be
Oh, and our good times start and end
Without dollar one to spend
But how much, baby, do we really need

Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen?

Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen?

Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen?

Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen?

Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean-

If you wish to hear the song on YouTube, not an LP I purchased, oldest brother did....

What a song, what a band and what a post.

It is funny as I just made my post and I had mentioned the jungle in Africa. I used to have monkeys living in my trees, and this post has brought back those wonderful memories!

You know, it seems like we are moving from how life worked for thousands of years quicker every second. The monkeys you captured so beautifully are a perfect metaphor for what we are losing. We have talked about this in so many of our other comments, but we are losing older generations' wisdom at an alarming rate. Soon, thousands of years of experience and wisdom will be gone forever because (i) our life is changing so fast requiring new skills, and (ii) because the young did not go through the trouble to learn from the old nor to write it down. Then something will happen and we will need to return to the older days' way of living and the old souls will laugh from their graves as the young modern people who did not want to listen suffer from their own hubris.

Sorry for the very depressing comment on such a nice post! But I know you will understand.

Keep well and hopefully these monkeys did not steal too much fruit from your garden!

Monkeys had 99.9% of the Guavadillas, not a problem they enjoyed eating as I enjoyed watching them. Now the Num-Num (Natal Plumb) starts coming into season, each season offers different berries in the garden, then of course they take over on the bird seed feeder....

IMG_4231.JPG

You are right in your sentiment, here the animals teach their young, our youth in many ways are losing a lot of knowledge. Hopefully soon this will change, realization they do need to know how to plant to eat.

Do you use the num-nums? (In jams and stuff like that?) There are a couple of bushes where I live and I have always wanted to do something with it.

So true, hopefully, it will happen in time. As things are looking bleak.

When you are fortunate enough perhaps a nice jam, never enough here with the monkeys eating most everything that grows. Now I wait and watch my chili bush see what they do with that !LOLZ

Oh that is a great idea! Maybe plant other peppers between the chilies, they will probably leave them alone once they realize they burn.

Such a shame. But the same here. Never had a gooseberry harvest after the birds and squirrels found out how delicious they are.

Only berry I got to enjoy that the monkeys did not identify as edible at the time, very few but super tasty.

They make the best jams though. Naturally high in pectin. I miss the days when I could pick buckets full of them! I have had some success when I let the weeds grow underneath the plants. It hides the gooseberries that fell to the ground.

For sure. They grow like weeds in my garden and I can capitalise on their growth.

For sure! Going into academia you must prepare yourself for copious amounts of writing.

0

Writing is a major part of preparation, old days many typists earned a living preparing for the students, now everyone has their own computer of laptop to do it themselves.

Infinite amounts of copies. Same with photography, previously you were restricted to a couple of photographs on a film. Now, you can basically take infinite amounts of photographs. There is something nice in that, my writing style is basically rewriting something over and over again. So doing that on a typewriter is not optimal. But you lose the ability to make nice notes with hand written notes and so on.

Sorry again for only responding now. But I am home now, things will settle down.

Still to this day enjoy my diary right next to me, although most work done on computers the hand written keeps tabs or jot down ideas. Have a great weekend.

Our infatuation with so much happening clogs our minds, change stimulates suspicion toward the unknown which most are noticing right now.

Change indeed is something big, I get scared of change once in a while, the fear of the unknown and the 'what ifs' always hits me, change is good I know but most times my heart is not just ready to accept it.

This was really deep @joanstewart thank you so much for sharing😊😊

Rapid change needs to be debated, people are giving away too many freedoms which we have become accustomed to. Much has been hard fought for over many generations.

I have watched the change, feel the fear of some crazy ideas being tossed around.

no matter where we go or what we do we are under a constant watchful eye by someone....

This got me laughing with the photo of the monkey watching 😀
It is a norm to be policed in our present day, something that has always been but continues to grow by the power-hungry. We might as well live with it.

Happy weekend, Joan.

Security even in suburbs now, good/bad I am not so sure!

Every transaction one makes is tracked and traced almost, now this is where I support crypto, look after your own and know what you doing. Still does not help the unbanked as promised!

Having monkeys are a blessing and a curse, all in the same breath. I love watching their antics and playing back and forth. Love how nurturing they can be, then cheeky the next moment. :) I have never had them long in my life, just short visits.

I like your jungle and how your thoughts meander. If only the little people could run the world, one that we don't worry about being the biggest, the best, the richest, the strongest... living in harmony is only a dream away. XO

The songs of yesterday meant something, leaning on the side of peace and this song has such a catchy little jingle. Now I am going to listen to it, with hope in my soul. Love to you, my friend. You certainly are a light in the storm.

Monkeys always up to antics they remind me of children taking a chance, experimenting with life, cheeky and cute all rolled up into one.

As humans we are placed under pressure from a young age, we affected by the wider world now with technology reaching all. We don't need herding, need debates/discussion inclusive to everyone, less lies, deceit, hidden agendas and greet to live in harmony.

Hope the song is catchy enough to lift you up for a day or two, become a Daydreamer once again smelling the flowers enjoying the tune.

!LUV and happy Saturday!

Hello dear friend @joanstewart good morning
What a beautiful and emotional post. It transmits a lot of positivism to us and you say very short things.
I appreciate that you encourage us to be positive, especially in these very bad times that the world is experiencing.
Beautiful family of monkeys, we have a lot to learn from animals
I take this opportunity to wish you a splendid weekend

Wonderful shots of the monkeys, Joan. They are cute but can be naughty like my raccoon. 😊

Upbeat songs seem to raise our spirits and we forget the negativity surrounding us and more brought into our homes through the media. I remember the tv show The Monkees and all the great music.

Some wildlife around keeps us on our toes, entertaining to watch as well.

Songs from yesteryear much more upbeat and we can relate to the words and lyrics.

Have a wonderful Sunday!
