Butterflies Kissed By Sunlight

Bring Joy, Luck, Happiness

Today, tomorrow and through our lifetime the butterflies appear dancing under sunlight, when it rains they disappear lending wings only dappled by the warmth of the sun.

African Grass (Sooty) Blue Butterfly - Zizeeria knysna African Grass Blue, or Sooty Blue, Butterfly, is common and widespread in every corner of South Africa.

Richness within gardens offers abundance in beauty, transformation, freedom to enjoy watching butterflies gently gliding by from plant to plant.

IMG_4822.JPG

Dusky Acraea Hyalites esebria esebria - Often different colour forms of this butterfly, can be confused with white-barred Acraea and common wanderer. Found in eastern parts of South Africa.

Personally it takes courage, finding your wings to soar after change knocks on your door, we need to learn to dance on the wind never against it.

IMG_3681.JPG

Boisduval's False Acraea Pseudacraea boisduvalii trimenii (65-88mm) - Male more intensely colored than female. Found in upper eastern parts of the country.

Recognize the beauty of change within each, take on challenges never faced before, sooner than later this happens when one must like a butterfly transform in taking next move.

IMG_4316.JPG

Layman Amauris albimaculata albimaculata - Common along coastal and riverine forests.

Lepidopterist, a person who studies butterflies or moths which I am not - all information for this post sourced in link at start of this sentence. Simple love their delicate winged beauty they bring into our lives, with hither thither floating zig-zag.....

IMG_4697.JPG

Common Mother-of-pearl protogoniomorpha parhassus (65-90 mm) - Male and female similar. Common in eastern parts of South africa.

Locked behind windows or closed doors never venturing out we will never find the actual meaning to life in our surroundings, nature reveals.

IMG_3554.JPG

Blue Pansy Junonia oenone oenone (40-52mm) - Male and female similar. Female with two red circles on each hind wing. Widespread throughout South Africa excluding most areas of the Cape.

Never rest too long lest we forget how to fly, immerse oneself under the sunlight to enjoy on bright fleeting moment of reality!

IMG_9197.JPG

Satyr Emperor Charaxes ethalion ethalion 45-60mm - Female and male have different coloration. Male black in color. Female patterned as in illustration. Restricted to eastern parts of South Africa.

With Festive Season fast approaching I can think of nothing more beautiful than the nature outside my door, presents, spending will never fill the gap only nature can fill.

IMG_3023.JPG

Dancing Acraea Acarea eponina eponina - Also referred to as 'small orange acraea'. Females can vary in colour. Eastern parts of South Africa.

Please let me know if any are not correctly identified, as mentioned earlier this is not my field of expertise, fun watching try learn more, our region have so many dancing butterflies.

I am not one who studies butterflies but I do appreciate their diverse beauty. The fact that they appear so delicate yet have thrived since the beginning of time is a testament to their awesomeness!

The pictures and the accompanying words tell a short story of how to live and cherish all that is offered up by nature.
A few years ago while vacationing in Florida we visited a captivating Butterfly garden.
Here are a few photos we took.

We are doing wonderful and are looking forward to getting out of the cold come the middle of January. Headed south to the Sunshine State for a month or so.

Chasing the warmth of sun a good idea, another state more scenery to enjoy.

After Christmas a place to relax, walk off the festive indulgence, sounds good.

The change of scenery will do both of us wonders. the cold weather has just started, but already Robin is getting cabin fever.

Butterflies are the most beautiful of insects. I can't even believe that they come from caterpillars))

Some caterpillars as attractive as the butterflies, always great excitement when able to relate to the two.

I always admire your time to research the flowers and animals you share, not easy coming up with their names, not a side of my post sharing I enjoy doing as I always find it tough but seems easy for you.

Butterflies are beautiful creatures aren't they?

I'm eternally grateful to my Mom and Dad who taught us about the smaller things in life that make life interesting. Research is satisfying once you accomplish what you looking for, takes time and patience.....
