Hiking in Rio Brito [ENG/ESP]

Hello Worldmappin friends. It's a pleasure for me to share with you today a short trip I recently took with the folks at Full Caribe Tours to Río Brito.

The Brito River is a tributary of the Manzanares River. It's a magical and very peaceful place located just a few minutes from Cumaná, via Cumanacoa, about a 20-minute drive away.

El río Brito es un afluente del río Manzanares. Es un lugar mágico y muy tranquilo, ubicado a pocos minutos de Cumaná, vía Cumanacoa, a unos 20 minutos en coche

The trails are not difficult to navigate for someone without prior experience; however, it is recommended to go with a guide or someone who has hiked the trail before to avoid any problems. (2) Avoid going during the rainy season, as the rivers can rise rapidly.

Upon reaching the river, you can enjoy a long trail with the help of local guides. Along the way, you'll find numerous pools of varying shapes and sizes, with crystal-clear water at a pleasant temperature.

Al llegar al río, puedes disfrutar de un largo sendero con la ayuda de los guías del lugar. En medio del camino encontrarás muchas pozas de formas y tamaños, con aguas cristalinas y de temperatura agradable.

I recommend bringing a liter and a half of water for hydration because it takes about 50 minutes to reach the first pool in the river. Regarding hiking gear, personally, I recommend: (1) good quality hiking boots or athletic shoes, as you'll have to cross the river several times.

Recomiendo llevar un litro y medio de agua para hidratarse, ya que se tarda unos 50 minutos en llegar a la primera poza del río. En cuanto al equipo de senderismo, personalmente recomiendo: (1) botas de montaña o zapatillas deportivas de buena calidad, ya que tendrás que cruzar el río varias veces.
