El Mirador de Caripe/ The Tourist Viewpoint of Caripe [ESP/ ENG]

Hello everyone, friends of worldmappin. Happy start to the week! It's a pleasure for me to share with you all a trip I recently took with the folks at Golfo Tours to the Caripe Tourist Lookout. I'd been planning this trip for many weeks, and it finally happened.

The Mirador de Caripe Tourist Complex was recently inaugurated in its first phase on December 31, 2025. This new space was transformed with an avant-garde design to boost tourism in the area, which I find incredible because Caripe is a prime tourist destination in eastern Venezuela.

We began our adventure very early in the morning, departing from Plaza Miranda in the city of Cumaná. We then met up with other travelers in the towns of San Antonio del Golfo and Cariaco. The journey took approximately two and a half hours. This alternative route to the town of Caripe is shorter than the usual one, although the road was in poor condition in some sections

Upon arriving at our destination, we were very lucky to find the entrance to the tourist complex with very few people, as on other dates there are usually long lines to get in. It's worth noting that the Caripe Lookout is currently only open on Saturdays and Sundays.

The first thing that impressed me upon entering was this series of murals with their vibrant colors and incredible designs. You can also see, from a distance, an imposing sculpture of an indigenous person from eastern Venezuela. There are also several food stalls selling sweets and strawberries with cream, as well as local souvenirs from the town of Caripe, which I think is excellent. I was also impressed by the size of the resort complex and all the facilities it offers for tourists, ranging from restaurants to a children's park.

That was a very wonderful tourist spot. Imposing indigenous people sculpture was really wonderful and what makes the place so relaxing is the view and if feels hot or wants something to have, there are vendors selling ice cream.
